Ойын-сауық

This app has been the most requested app for me to review ever. So here it is. This video is the third of a three part series. Today I'm looking at the watercolour brushes. Did I like it? Watch the video to find out.

Thank you for an "organic" tutorial, in which you show, through trial and error (which I think is the best way to understand the brush engine) what and how brushes work. Am seriously considering getting this app. Thanks for your continued efforts to bring us tutorials on new programs.

I might have to get this program. It's so much easier to just paint. Rather than having to figure out complicated interfaces. Loved your free and easy approach to the subject. Many thanks

Steve, I ended up buying the ipad version. Similar experience to what you’ve described for the pc cersion. except i can create a canvas (a really really laggy painting experience though) up to 5000x5000. Its actually a bit laggy on the ipad at any resolution. I do actually like watercolor though (and the sketching) Love this painting that you did too.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the feedback, I was wondering how the ipad version compared to the PC

Hi Steve. Just looking at their promo video on their website...did you spot that you could mix paint in the middle of the watercolour paint pan? Same with the oil paints you can mix two (or more?) colours on the palette and then brush with those colours onto your painting. Pretty impressive.

Hi Duke, I didn't pick up on the mixing of the watercolour. However, I did know about the mixing of oil paints. I tried it out but for some reason when I was making the video the mixing tool developed a bug and just wouldn't work, so I had to abandon it. Unfortunate really because it's a real nice feature that I haven't seen in other apps

@@SteveElliottArt I used to have it in Corel Painter X but it won't work on my pc anymore. Can you believe it refuses to work because I have too much ram! Talk about built in obsolescence!

Andrzej,Hello Stefan, I have a question, how did you put this photo in the lower right corner, is it only in the movie or in the program?

Steve, on balance - and assuming I can only afford one - which would you say is specifically better for “realistic” digital water colour, in your experience: Rebelle 4 or Realistic Paint Studio?

  • @SteveElliottArt

Hi Steve, that’s a tricky one. Rebelle actually makes the paint react like watercolour you can wet the paper and the water bleeds into it. So that wins hands down for realistic experience, but the possibilities are endless. RPS brushes create a watercolour effect straight from the brush so is much easier to control and get quick results. Rebelle has been around for a few years now with regular updates that do not disappoint, whereas RPS is a newcomer, so there is that to consider. They both have trial versions so I would give them both a try and see which is best for you.

Have they fixed it so you can increase the canvas more than 72dpi?

  • @SteveElliottArt

Hi Steve, I’m not sure, but it doesn’t matter because you can enter a custom pixel size., say you want a painting 20” x 16” multiply each measure by the dpi and you have your pixel size 👍
