Holy crap that ambush looks nuts. Granted, add-ons to boost the charge speed and dash attack speed, but still. Jesus. I think I am actually excited to play Pig again. I am happy to be wrong on this one, live changes pending.

11:30 if double hitting is the problem, just make it explode on contact with a survivor rather than phase through them and proc the single explosion's effects as per usual.

my idea is direct hits apply weakened. but add an extra bounce to the projectile + lifetime. meaning it CAN doublehit. if you're REALLY good with it.

I know some people are upset about not being able to see the box auras, but think of it as a trade off, i’d rather Pig have a good pretty consistent chase power over the ability to maybe catch someone at a box

Honestly though the way some people played it was disgusting and unhealthy. They would do everything in their power to prevent one survivor from getting the trap off. Yes, you could tunnel them the normal way as well but this made it significantly easier because you knew with near 100% certainty where they would be. Sometimes you have to ignore the crying for the betterment of significant majority. People cried about Sadako not being able to slug condemn too. Whether it's overall nerf or not is completely irrelevant. This is a healthy change and Pig can be buffed further. The game is so ridiculously imbalanced anyway that the tiny difference between this Pig and current Pig that it's really irrelevant. People are more crying because it's much harder to torment people this way now.

Saw so many comments on DBDs YT saying that this is a pig NERF. Crazy how all of those pig players literally just try and cheese someone with a trap😭 this is most CERTAINLY a pig buff. Might even play her more now especially considering how much I love saw. Edit for people that know the saw franchise well: I’ve always thought that a really cool skin would be the original pig mask John used in saw 4 that he got from the new years festival. That would be sick. It would also be really cool to play as John, Hoffman, or even Lawrence. Maybe even Adam as survivor. Just some thoughts if anyone is reading this that also loves saw😮‍💨

It's because some people like to make others miserable. They will never admit it, perhaps not even to themselves but even if it is somehow a Pig nerf, so what? The difference is so minor overall in terms of what she got vs. what she lost. The game is so imbalanced anyway that a tiny change like this barely matters if it makes the game healthier which this change totally does.

I love how the nerf wouldn't even affect the strategy of "Fuck this one survivor in particular" that much and people will still bitch. As someone who has "Fucked this one survivor in particular (because they sandbagged a survivor and fuck people who screw over teammates in a team heavy game)", all this really does is ensure that you have to follow whoever has an active hat a little longer. Every survivor could body block for them on a box, you're still getting through before they can potentially take the hat off. And even if they do get it off, how unlikely would you be unable to get a new hat on them?

I'm on the side that this change sucks because it just makes Pig another go forward fast killer just play Chucky

as a Pig main who's never gone for head pops and tried to use Ambush as much and as effectively as possible and just used the traps for slowdown and keeping people from walking out, I'm super happy about all this! the "tunneling until head pop" strat was no fun and it was still weak anyway, she actually feels like a relatively well rounded killer now and a lot more fun and less frustrating for all parties I think I don't say this kind of thing often but the people complaining about this change because they can't go for the brainless no fun strat anymore need to git gud (even though they can still go for that strat even, it will just take slightly more time and effort)

As a pig player who likes the thematic use of head traps (and think they are great to counter gen rushing) I feel like its sacrificing one popular play style of play to generalize her. Couldn't we just have it where both styles are viable rather then destroy something to make her a simi stealth mouse 1 killer. This would be like if they removed freddy's teleports so he could have both snares and pallets. a large part of the identiy of the killer has been made almost laughable in return for slight improvements that should have been in place regardless.

​@@NameIsDocit's still a key part of her though, it's just as good for slowdown as it previously was, and it's really quite good for slowdown, and it can still kill someone if they don't take it seriously, it just won't be as cheap anymore, it really mostly nerfed the playstyle where you tunnel someone until their head pops which isn't very thematic anyway

@@totallyrealcia "actually utilized her kit" I'm sorry but going for head pops is the opposite of utilising her kit imo, I've always used all parts of her kit, the ambush and the traps both, the only thing I don't go for is the cheesy head pop tunnel strat which isn't optimal anyway and that's really the thing that was nerfed here

Virgin Unknown: launches a purple bouncy ball that needs to explode on a survivor twice to actually damage them, with a cooldown to boot. Chad Pig: launches herself at the survivor, immediately taking off a healthstate, with not so much a cooldown as a need to stretch her legs so they don't get cramps. Only thing missing is BHVR adding a voiceline of her shouting "YEET!"

It's nice not having the jigsaw box auras cluttering up the screen

*Slightly nerfs Pig's less interesting playstyles while very much so buffing her chase potential* DBD reddit: "they actually nerfed pig, no point to playing her now"

I used to avoid using pigs stealth power, but how fast she moves now looks good.

idk why people keep saying the new killer needs to he able to damage on direct hits, if he was like that he'd just become another zoning killer. Best part of his design is that he's the only killer where you want to break los with the survivor, which leaves for some pretty unique gameplay. Really he needs some sort of extra passive effect to compliment that, like adding an extra passive debuff to being weakened; some sort of constant auditory hallucination (they have the tech, they did it with chucky) or some sort of visual effect like with clown's bottles. A killer's design above all else should be unique, not just strong for the same of being strong

New dash looks strong, imo id tweak it to be slightly faster crouch walk in exchange for slghtly less dash duration for more jumpscares and less mindless anti-loop, or at least tune the addons to make this work instead of tweaking basekit numbers. Also I've thought this since they made active/inactive traps a thing but there should really be some sort of reward for trapping people towards the end of the game without making it hella easy to tunnel, like maybe hindering you a ton once you get into gates area to make rushing for the exit with a trap on more of a risk but easy to avoid tunneling by either taking it off or healing beforehand.

Scott, try the jump scare add-on combo with the new version of Pig: - John’s Medical File (brown add-on). With this add-on after the patch your new crouched movement speed should be about 4.2 m/s - Amanda’s Letter (red add-on). Lose two traps but you can see survivor auras while crouched With those add-ons and the buffs to base kit Ambush, you should be able to really scare the crap out of survivors by Ambushing he, out of stealth when you get close. (It’s already always been my favorite way to play her, and now it’s improved! 😄)

Buff or no buff, with the way I've been playing Pig, I don't have to care much about he traps. When I play Amanda, I like perks that let me damage gens and slow down Survivors without me having to constantly kick the gen or always be breathing down the Survivor's necks. I've also learned that even an inactive trap is enough to make all the momentum the Survivors gained STOP.

I really like the Huntress lullaby double missed injure build. its gonna be so much better now

Idk… To an extent, I feel like you need a power that circumvents pallets to be a good/strong killer and she won’t have that no matter what buffs she gets. Still, she seems to be in a much better state than prior to the buffs for sure.

Ngl, I'm kinda happy that a lot of my old favorite killers have been getting buffs lately. Billy, Pig, I just hope we can get Myers and Bubba changes soon.

You can tell who the sweatlords are when they put on blend skins on the damn PTB.

I was screwing around with haste perks and the ambush addons against bots and turns out I can cover 50% of shack in a single dash so thats crazy, I also used her ambush for mobility every time after a previous dash and it didn't feel the worst lol

What is the deal with the audio in this game? I just started playing again and in game for me the chase music is so loud I can't hear anything else. In this vid it sounds like when I used to play where I can still hear the injured survivor grunts and running footsteps over the chase music. I lose track of people constantly now because I can't hear anything.

There is no reason for ghost face (can attack straight from crouch) to crouch faster than pig (can only uncrouch or use charge attack)

Hold on, can you actually use her power for mobility now? Meaning is it faster to repeatedly dash than it is to walk in a straight line?

i tested it and its about the same amount of distance travelled. walking is slightly faster

Man, that .3 seconds extra duration already paid off in that first chase. Finally Pig doesn't look like a total laughing stock anymore.

I will actually like playing against pig now, I hated how most pigs would just kinda camp some boxes due to unlucky rng of a survivor. Turn rates are a little crazy, maybe there should be a little cool down before you can ambush again?

I just miss endgame pig, it was so much fun

the timer makes no difference, no half competent survivor is ever going to die to a headtrap wether its 2.5 or 3 minutes. hell it could be a 5 minute timer and the effect would still be the same because the head traps exist solely to stop people doing gens and slow the game down. the timer is irrelevant

They’ve been running out of ideas starting back with ghost face. He’s just Myers’s that’s focuses more on the 1v1 than the 1v4. Not to mention the 6 other projectile killers that youre better off just playing huntress. Not sure if DBD just doesn’t have a lot of play styles against all the killers but half the roster is either a watered down version or similar in some aspects, different in others

Some of these survivors are casual. I hope it looks like this when others play as pig because against a good team they would have slammed gens rather quickly and last a pretty good chase. Idk what’s going on here.

Hmmm....... Against good survivors this is still dog sh#- Pallets also completely counter this ability and in a nasty way. And to top it off you need otzdarva level hour's in the game to utilize the ambush correctly. I wouldn't call this a nerf, but the pig's skill floor just skyrocketed. And her cealing didn't change much. We really need to see this base kit without the add-ons...

Why even have reverse bear traps anymore i rather they just remove it at this point and rework here its almost like using the trap puts the killer at a Disadvantage for wasting time

I hope this changes not going to live. Pig is now worst killer in the game. Even Freddy and Trapper stronger now. Tbh, at this point if devs remove Pig from the game and give me compensation in auric cells and bp - im not gonna complain at all.
