Lol yes girl! The good thing about curly hair is that you can’t really tell if you mess up and you can go back and snip the curls that stand out when your hair is dry. But I do look at videos so I have an idea of what I’m trying to achieve. 🙂

I live by that hair cut, I've already done it twice!

It is absolutely catastrophal to try to get a haircut for curly hair in Germany. Next time I will do this on my own! Or get a cut in Spain during my holidays... hopefully they got more experience

I've given up on Frisöre in Germany since I got a shag cut that left me with like 3 hairs in my total length, I'd rather fuck my hair up on my own :D

Absolutely stunning!!! I love how you started out with the initial Manes by Mell and then refined it to your desired layering. Still following Mell’s basic directions. I did the pigtails cut yesterday and it came out okay, but not nearly the layering I was hoping for. Going to wait until next weekend and then try your modifications! Thanks so much mamas!

If you had told me before Covid I was gonna be cutting my own hair I would’ve said you’re crazy. But your video makes it so easy! I went for the short layers and it looks great. Starting to grow up now, trying to decide if I want to add bangs.

Thank you so much for this follow-along tutorial. I also watched Mell’s video but found yours actually even easier to understand and a bit more straight forward, so thank you! I knew I had to try it and your video was just what I needed to boost my confidence. I love the results! I’m a bit unsure though because my hair is quite long (like to the waist) so I have to still tweak it a bit, but I think it’ll be fine. Fingers crossed!

It came out sooooo good😍. This is the first time I'm cutting my curly hair all by myself. I'm glad I found your video. To all the curlies out there, "Embrace your hair ."

It looks so good. I just watched your last haircut video and now this one. I cut my hair the other day on a whim because I was so tired of it being so long with dead ends and just split my hair in two and tied it and cut the ends off and some bangs and it came out pretty good but I want volume on top so I’ll be trying this! Girl... you are brave!! Came out wonderful but I'm like O M G... when you cut on the opposite side of your fingers from Mel's technique! Not sure I'll ever be brave enough for this but it's fun watching other gals go for it and have to admit it encourages me to try. My curls are way tighter and shrinkage far greater... so that why I hesitate. Thanks for sharing! Smiles and blessings...

This is exactly the style/cut I was searching for! Thank you so much for sharing, Yeislin! My hair is too short now to do it (went a little crazy last time) but I am longing for This Style again, except now I have to achieve it without my stylist (sigh). And no hair color, either (double sigh). Oh well, if that's all I have to whine about right now, I'm fortunate and I know it. But I am looking forward to doing this cut maybe in another month. Ohhh no they thinned your hair 😩😩 that’s a no no for curly hair. I’m sorry you didn’t have a good experience with your stylist. I have a daughter too but she is too young for me to try this cut. Her hair is just passed her shoulders so I just trim her ends to even her curls out.

@@YeislinRuiz yeah girl 😑 worst part, the hairstylist swore she didn’t but 1) she slid her scissors down parts of my hair, 2) my hair shows that it’s been texturized 😒 nothing I can do but nourish and let it grow out....so I tried this cut on my 4 year old but kept it VERY SUBTLE AND ONLY TRIMMED it and it brought back life to her little curlies and gave her some shape. She loved it. 💕🤗

I'm trying this out!! I did it up until the 1st high pony tail. My hair is still wet so I'll update after.

This is wonderfully explained, but I am still terrified!! After decades of sticking my hair in a bun, I am finally letting it just BE, but it's never had a professional cut (just me hacking randomly to get growing out colour on my silver journey) so it's everywhere and nowhere! It's very curly but half the density it once was (stress and age is a bad combo) and I can't stick it back on if I screw up! I also find it impossible to mirror people, as it confuses my right and left. Maybe I'll try a xouple of millimetres.....😮

I'm about to try this now, this is the look that I'm going for. Wish me luck!
