Trying every trick in the book
We were short on time, trapping in country with too much grass and water, plus it was an area we have trapped many times before so we were facing a few very trap-shy dogs. We simply had to try every trick in the book if we were to be successful.

The way you explain your reasoning as you work is so enjoyable. Good on ya mate.
Thats part of the overall problem these days , some people think everything should be free. Great video.
Another great video keep them coming. 👍🏽👍🏽
I am learning all the time Clark, the tips and tricks. should come in handy for coyotes.
As you know, Clark most city folk don’t have a clue about our country folk. I think we should create a Land Army, whereby every 18 year old spends a year in country. What a difference that would make. We need to get them off there dumb phones. 👍🙏🇦🇺

I hear ya!! However, for every good young youth, there will now be three bludgers and if the guy in charge, the landholder maybe, kicks their butt or even gives them an earful for being a dickhead, then he/she is up on charges, in the media.... Nah, world is now too soft.
Rant over ...Good job enjoy your channel and good on you. 👍
Love what you are doing cobber. Keep at it mate.🤠
So true Clark cats are worth nothing to a dog trapper but I like you would always shoot the bloody things when I found them and over the years I have shot plenty of them.

So true. Hiding their mistakes by squandering our assets, then making out they hate "fossil fuel". Liars, cheats and charlatans
Feral cats were a serious problem here years ago, but when the coyotes immigrated here in the `80s, that changed tremendously. I have not seen a feral cat out in the woods in a few decades. We just don't have them in any serious numbers anymore. Armadillos moved in here in the very early `60s and became as common as grey squirrels but they too are far less common today, all thanks to the large population of coyotes we have here now.

Nature hates a vacuum and coyotes, like our dingo, fill the empty spaces. Merry Christmas
Love your work and your dogs. Keep it up. Cheers
Right at the start i thought you were calling Skippy, that's what it sounded like to me, gum leaf in the mouth.
More good work
Hi Clark, 100% with you there’s no way in the world I would buy an electric car you have to be an idiot to buy one. Keep up the good work. Love your video Cliff from Logan city Queensland, Australia

Occasionally you will get a dog that circles behind you silently, comes in close and screams, then bolts away. That is a real surprise!!
spot-on as always
Clarke the way your dog exited the car was hilarious, virtually fell out. 😁

He is a real show off!!
Lovely Ep
Congratulations, Clarke for the bycatch of the real damager in the bush. Reckon that one a day, plus a couple of dogs would make your day. Even a small bounty on cats ought to be introduced, but then the hypocrites would have a field day. Logic: pay to keep calves safe, but bugger the native animals?!
Reminds me a lot of rabbit trapping when l was a kid good times
Could you tie that dead little piglet from the trap up in a tree so it off the ground from other pigs but still spreading a scent? You actually answered question at 13:19.
I hope you get some dogs soon, nice shot on that kitten
Gotta love that coal elec. Keep them elec. cars running.
unusual marking on big mumma
That pig looks like the right size for the BBQ.
I'm waiting to see you doing this in an EV.
G'day from Arizona. Monsoon season hear. Thunder, lightening and rain last night. Lost electrical power 5, 6, 7 times last night. Walking around the home at 5am this morning resetting all of the clocks. It's currently 29'C with an expected high of 41'C. How is your winter this year ?

Winter back home is terribly dry so we are heading for a shocking fire season ahead. We are away on a very interesting trapline. Stay tuned! One day we hope to get across into the US for another visit, love your country and the real people 👊
Clark do you think dogs are more active during the night than day. Or does the weather make a difference.
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry

Weather sure does play a part but in most of our areas, they own the night.
I have been wondering if you get paid by the day or per dog. I would be interested in finding out more about the economics of trapping. Great content. Cheers.

The guys that do the best are on the Govt payroll. In the real world, we get paid usually a retainer per day and bonus per dog. Gets you out of bed and working hard.
Clark this property I just started on has a large pack of dogs at one end and another pack about 2 miles away on the same property. Is it possible this is two packs or I’m seeing the same pack.
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry
10 ай бұрын
Unless the property is right on the boundary of two strong packs, it is most probable that they are the same dogs. Biggest pack I have seen is 19 but have heard of 26 from a reliable source. Took 32 in a run within a 20k radius
Do the pigs attack calves?
How far do you go to do your trapping
Great video , that little pig would go nice on the spit if it doesn’t go too dog bait.
Clark please tell us where you are in each video not naming the property so we can appreciate the type of country and where it is. Tks. Col John.

If you had dogs that naturally howled would it bring the dingoes in quicker. Have you ever been able to get a dog to howl on command for you?
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry
Жыл бұрын
Our ol' dingo cross named Ernie was simply the best. He would scream and yowl until he got a reply, entice them in then lie down until Dad dropped hammer. Wish I had filmed him in action more.
What caliber rifle do you use on different targets?
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry
Жыл бұрын
.22 rimfire on small game and trapped dogs, .223 if there is any doubt or for untapped dogs, .243 for when I know I could come up against big boars or long shots, .308 or 30/06 for deer and above
What is a stepping stick for?

Hey mate . You should be charging at $ 200 dollars a day plus 800 bucks per Dingo . Example dingoes would be eating 20 head a year at least ( calf’s ) = $ 50,000 worth of T Bones in surrounding area .you need a better manger

As soon as we are seen as too expensive, the landholders use 1080 poison. Then after awhile, when the number of bait shy dogs gets too high again, we get called back in but this time, we face the hardest dogs you can find.
Your government should pay people good money to get rid of the bloody moggies and save some of your wildlife
You should get yourself a 4wd land anchor and a winch just as a fail safe

That’s sad to hear what you said about cats, I wish there was more money in it for you guys. They are detrimental to the natives.
Should of let dogs dispatch it
Don't Dingoes/Wild Dogs suppress cats, foxes, pigs?
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry

They do and this is the conundrum we face. A balance can be aimed at, with us as the careful stewards of the land
'Brandon you'd love to get that piggy, but I think I'll just shoot him in the head' Straight talking Clark, that's why we love you And straight shootin! Let's go Brandon Got a dog called kamala yet ?!!
I see a feral cat it’s fair game.didn’t Banana shire put a bounty on cats? Be a while ago now .be nice if they could put a bounty on them.
There should be national bounty on all feral animals to assist professional to make a living and amateur hunters to off set their costs. As you say, to give ferals a value!
Doing well on piglets and pussies, but not so well on the woofers. Wishing you better luck for next weeks video. I'll be w8ing.
