Trying and Rating Amazing Georgian Food 🇬🇪
You either would hate Georgian food or fall in love with it completely. We've tried several less popular traditional meals made by local Georgians that they love themselves and eat quite often. We also cooked one meal on fire outdoors with them and it was so much fun🔥
Thank you for watching! 💛

I love these hard working Georgian people. Look at their hands. Creating so much goodness. Thank you for sharing.
Very interesting. The chicken looked delicious. And the vegetable stew also. I’m glad you had this experience. You all seem so much happier and I hope things are going well for you. My prayers are with you. ❤️
Tolya has the most beautiful smile. He exudes kindness. I love how you were trying not to sound too negative about the beans with nuts! Also, we peel most kinds of cucumbers here in the US too.
Tolya always has such a contented and happy face. That is unique! He knows how to enjoy life. That is a great talent!

Yes, and he enjoys providing for Victoria.
Hi Vika, one thing about peeled cucumbers. I'm not Georgian, I'm from the US, but we have that habit with peeling cucumbers here as well so maybe there is some similarity. There are 4 main types you can find here- American, Persian, English, and Kirby. Americans, which are the cheapest and most common here are usually waxed (to preserve them) when you find them in the store. The wax is supposedly edible, but most people will peel the skin to get rid of it. Kirbys are what are used for pickles here, but people still eat them as normal too. They are not waxed, but their skin is very bumpy and slightly tough, so we peel those too. Persian and English cucumbers are not waxed, and they have the thinnest skins (and in my opinion are the tastiest) so we eat them without peeling. :)

I eat the skins birthdays where most of the nutrients are.
We peel cucumbers here if they are straight from the garden... the kind that grow here the skin is so thick and there are so many prickles on the outside! This all looks so delicious. Excited to see more of the landscape of the country!
About how good the food was, Tolya's smile said it all! All the veggies being prepared were so beautiful to look at. I'm glad to know garlic and hot peppers are very good for you and keep your immune system healthy. I make my food very spicy and use garlic in almost every dish. I can imagine the little germs encountering garlic and chilies in my stomach or bloodstream and saying, "Whoa! We are SO outta here!"🤣 The place you are staying is so lovely and peaceful. Stay well and happy!
Wow! Georgia is really a beautiful country where one can stay very well. The environment is fantastic, the people is so friendly and the food....amazing. I think that your stay in this awesome country is truly a great pleasure, especially for Agata. Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful video with us.
You guys seem SO happy and light hearted since you settled in Georgia
The view in the window behind you is stunning! Food looked good. 🥰
I'm so loving your Georgian vlogs, it looks like a stunning country with delicious food and wine! This was a great idea, to give us this culinary experience, though I am so hungry now 😂. In South Africa we have delicious meat and tomato stew too.
I really enjoyed the eggplant and tomato roasting before adding to the dish.
This channel is so full of love, this world needs love!!! Thank you.
Thanks again for sharing. Everything looked so interesting.
Hey Vika, Tolya, Agatha and Future Baby Sister! So good to hear from you again. Again, double high five to Tolya for booking the winery weekend. Fun for the whole family, and your followers, as well. I've been looking forward to these cooking videos. I'm such a foodie! Made notes on lobia and mchadi, being vegan. Can't wait to try them! I actually like my food a little spicier. Thanks to Sweet Simple Vegan channel, I learned you can veganize anything using soy curls for the meat substitute. Its all in the seasoning. I love garlic, onions and coriander. Tip: Usually in the food world, they say roasted or charred vegetables instead of burned. Burned has a negative connotation, like burned all the way through. Roasted is just enough high heat very near to the source, sometimes in the flame itself to intensify the inherent flavor of the plant. Charring is to blacken and blister the skin without burning all the way through. An indoor home cooking technique would be to use the flame on a gas stovetop (charring) or place the pan of vegetables under the broiler (roasting), where the fire is exposed under the oven. Outdoors, you might use different types of wood (apple, hickory, mesquite, etc, as you saw with the grapevine cuttings) in a grill to add their flavor and fragrance to the food and give it more dimension. On the grill, you could wrap the vegetables in a foil packet (bake, bc not directly exposed to flame), skewer them as was done at the winery here and lay the skewers on the grill (grill/roast) or underneath the grill surface inside the fire (char). What they used here was the equivalent of a stone oven, but trimmed in bricks, so they were able to place the grapevine cuttings directly inside and work with the vegetable skewers directly in the fire. Everyone should be so lucky to have one of those. A recent trend has been the construction of "pizza ovens" made of brick, stone or clay in home gardens. It's popular with many types of people: pizza lovers, campers, and preppers, who like to live offgrid/green/eco-friendly or to be ready for power outages. I'd love to see some cooking videos in your beautiful new home, inside and outside. This was a wonderful video. Thank you so much for creating and sharing it. Bright blessings.

You really should try this khmeli suneli spice. Probably you can find it at a russian supermarket (or e.g. on the Internet), it's really nice for meat dishes in general but I guess with vegan options like tofu it's the same as well.
I love watching all the new experiences!
I love to cook too ❤️❤️❤️
You made me hungry Vika! Yumm! 😍
Always great to hear from you- beautiful family 💛
What a stunning country and that is one happy husband!
Your husband has such kind eyes. I am glad you two have each other. Also, Agatha's shoes are so cute!
Tolya has such a lovely, genuine smile. I find myself smiling when he does.
Thank you for showing the country traditional food.👍🥰
In America California Nevada where I’m from we peel cucumbers in our salads some just cut the edges 4 ways around to make it look prettier but I think it taste better pill
my friends brought me a Georgian Cookbook from Georgia and I cooked some of the dishes! I really liked them! I had Khinkali during my trip in Irkutsk Russia while travelling the transibirean railway in 2017. I loved them a lot. But I also love Pelmenis :) Thank you for sharing the food with us! Love from Germany
Tolya is funny! Yes, he did choose well! I enjoy seeing foods from different places. (Even though I personally hate cooking and am terrible at it. I appreciate people who are good at it.)
My grandma made a baked chicken like this without the garlic and spices. She would first roll the chicken pieces in flour and pan fry them until almost done, then remove them and put them into a baking dish and pour milk or cream over them, cover with foil and bake for about 30 minutes to finish cooking the chicken and it was always very tender. All she would season them with is salt and pepper. I love chicken made this way! It looks very similar to what you were eating. Personally, I am not a fan of mushrooms or eggplant, but the food you show looks interesting. The bread served with the eggplant meal looked wonderful! We prepare cucumbers both ways. I like to peel strips from the cucumbers and then slice them to make a pretty presentation. Often the peels are more bitter depending on the variety you serve, so peeling them partially or completely is necessary. There are varieties like the "Straight Eight", which are common here, that have a mild tasting skin. We do eat the cucumber and tomato salad you show, here in America. Often we add diced onion and a vinegar dressing. Your faces .... when you tasted the beans and nuts!! Priceless!! LOL I think it tastes as good as you initially described it, yes?? The meal that was the most talked about in our family, was when I decided to make Chinese food at home about 20 years ago. Except for the boughten egg rolls that I just heated to serve, it was completely horrible... but we laughed and laughed as a family, as we tasted each dish. We considered if it would even be good enough for the chickens to eat, or if it would kill them!?
Beautiful meals and also loving Tolya's beautiful smile and happy face! I have never seen someone smile so much. It makes me instantly happy!
I don’t just want to visit Georgia, I want to live there! It looks like a very beautiful country, thank you for sharing these experiences! The food looked sooo good
This was s wonderful adventure! Thanks for sharing the beautiful setting and the wonderful food!
Hi, Vika…..so good to hear from you again! Love your food videos! I know how hard it is to create these. It takes extra time and I want you to know how much you are appreciated!
Vika, this video was delicious . . . thank you for sharing the traditional cuisine of Georgia! Very inspiring to see some new (for me!) ways to make some wonderful foods. I also love how cooking and sharing food builds community, which you demonstrate so well. Vika, you are now, "eating for two," so keep going, I am sure there is even more to explore. Much love to you, Tolya, Agata and our little one arriving soon!
wow, your favourite is similar to one that I make and no I do not put too much spice in it either. The chickrn looked fantastic. It is also good to see that Agatha has a healthy interest on different foods. Great video👏👏💪
So interesting to see the Georgian meals. Love it Agatha so sweet feeding kitty. 😻😘😘❤️
all my love to your beautiful family. watching the three of you makes my heart happy :)
Greetings from Canada. Glad you're happy and safe in Georgia. Some of my favourite folk music is from the Tusheti Mountains in Georgia.

It's the first time I've come across someone who goes into the subject of music in a comment. Actually, I am interpreting the bottom part of the piece in case you can listen to many Turkish Folk Music and want to know the lyrics. Because the meaning may not be fully understood in the translated translation. If you want to listen, let the highland roads echo there. respects. kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4KXzM6JdNuooto.html Hero my Mustafa kzread.info/dash/bejne/k3qMl5tpgcaanLA.html
I was so excited and looking forward to this video and clicked on it as soon as I saw the upload!
The good food is enhanced by your presentation and the lovely setting and part outside location. Your videos are more than 10 out of 10. Georgia is so interesting would never have though of going there. Thank you Vika Tolya and everyone.
Here where I live in the USA we have two kinds of cucumbers. The ones we call English cucumbers is do not peel, but the more common (and less expensive) cucumbers have a thicker skin that sometimes is not appealing to eat or can be bitter so I peel that kind of skin. I also think is a personal preference.
Thank you so much for sharing these Georgian dishes and how they are prepared. Fascinating.
Growing up, my family would barbecue with vine stumps. I'm Armenian-American. The stew reminds me of fasulia, which is an Armenian stew with beef, green beans, and tomatoes.
The chicken and the beef with tomatoes looked delicious! When you guys are able to travel to the USA I highly recommend trying American baked beans (sweet and tangy, sometimes with some spice), deep fried cheese curds (Wisconsin specialty, where I live), and if you are out on the East Coast all the seafood you can get your hands on. I really enjoy for videos, especially the food ones! I’d love to try some of these some day :)
Нельзя смотреть такие видео на голодный желудок. Выглядит все очень вкусно!
I loved seeing the different foods! Tolya has the happiest smile, and it always puts me in a good mood to see it!
Loved seeing the Georgian food and getting your impression of the different dishes. Thanks so much Victoria.
So interesting to see! Thanks for showing us these fine people of Georgia making their traditional dishes. Makes me want to explore that part of the world
Glad you guys are enjoying my homeland! Haven’t been back home in years and your vlogs are making me miss it so much, especially food!🤤😋
Thank you for sharing. It’s beautiful there and all the food looked delicious. It’s great to see you all looking so happy and relaxed.💕
Yum! All of those dishes look fabulous- especially the eggplant! What a beautiful place. You guys are looking very relaxed and happy. (Also I love Tolya’s ‘Big Boss’ t shirt!)
This reminds me so much of the vacation I took in Georgia. What a stunning country. Lovely landscapes, good food and amazing wine of course😉 hope you and your little family are fine and enjoy Georgia as much as we did💜
Thanks again for another interesting slice of life video, this one based on food. I think this is what KZread is best used for, showing us life in other countries (I live in Canada). I'll probably never visit Georgia but your videos do give a view of country living there.
Thank you Vika for sharing this ❤️. It so nice to see different traditional food and culture from different countries. God bless always 🥰
It all looked wonderful....I would have loved to be there and tried everything with you all! Thanks!
Wow Georgian food looks delicious. Thank u very much for sharing this. God bless you and your family!
I really liked this video, especially the different kinds of Georgian food, plus the scenery, and especially you (with future baby), Tolya, and Agatha. Glad to see you all looking well and happy!
Your choices of events in the videos are very very interesting. Travel, pets, food, etc. Thanks for sharing the culture.
The food in a culture is always so interesting. It’s so nice to have so many videos lately. I think maybe you are close to having your new baby daughter or maybe you already did. My prayers are for you and your baby and good health. 🙏
Lots of information - interesting information. In Canada, we typically don't peel cucumbers either, but some do. Always fun trying new foods. Love from London, Ontario 🇨🇦
I love your videos so much! Your family is adorable!
I love your videos and personality 🥰 my best wishes to you and your beautiful family 👨👩👧👦
I love seeing new types of foods. It makes me want to try something like it at home.
I really enjoyed this one - your husbands happy face while eating - i loved it xxx
Hi Victoria. I loved to watch all the delicious food there. My father loved the bean with walnuts, but I remember my mother never put garlic in it. My father lived in Tiplisi for five years. That's why he loved it. Veal I won't eat, because I love animals, specially when they're little babies. I hope next time you'll eat khingali, it's absolutely delicious. I love pelmeni more ❤️
What a beautiful location.
It was an interesting video. All countries have delicious and different foods, Good video :)
Glad you are presenting this information. I've always heard great things about Georgian food.
Loved this video...all of the dishes looked so delicious! I love learning about & trying foods from different areas & countries. I'm in America but, also grew up eating some foods which are popular in Poland (where my Father's parents emigrated from). The open air dining & the beautiful landscapes were so beautiful & inviting...as well as the beautiful & colorful foods. ❤
You should go to Samegrelo if you can, Martvili canyon is very very beautiful in summer and Megrelian cuisine is one of the best in Georgia. 💘
Ok now I want to visit Georgia.
All the food looks delicious - I am a chicken lover and eat it a few times a week, and your first chicken dish in 'milk and garlic' looked tasty and tender. I'm going to have to look for that recipe. I also prefer my veg roasted and 'burnt'... it adds to the flavour. Tolya definitely gets 20 out of 10 for location! As a Brit, I would have served the meat and tomato course with traditional UK Dumplings (suet, flour and parsley). Good to see you all looking relaxed and happy with life. Much love from the UK. x
The look on your faces when you tried the lobio wins the internet for today!!😅😅
I usually don't leave comments but I'm always excited when a new video comes out😃 I sometimes watch the old ones over and over again 😂 For me is interesting to watch other cultures and dishes, to hear from you and to know how your family is doing in Georgia. I hope you're having a great day, a big hug from Germany 🌻🌞😘
Thank you Victoria for this insight into authentic georgian cuisine ! Do you speak georgian yourself ? Are you planning to learn ?
I love your food videos. The chicken and mushrooms would probably be my fave. I make a version of stuffed mushrooms here in America. Tolya’s expression when he tried the beans and nuts was too funny. I would think the texture would bother me also. Didn’t sound that good . Fun video and seeing the scenery was amazing
I really liked this video! Well... I like good food in general so this was very interesting to see and get to know some Georgian cuisine.
That was great. So interesting to learn about different cultures. Thanks for your well done videos. I hope you enjoyed your “get away” to the winery. It looked very nice.
Omg just got to watch and you and your husband when Agatha gave the cat bread is hilarious 😂😂” Agatha, state your defence” “what kind of crime” lolll best parents 💓
I lived in Georgia for about 4 years, so I'm loving these videos! I actually really love lobio haha. I'm also missing the shoti bread now, it's so good!
oh my gosh im starting to see Agatha's facial expressions reflect you and your husbands and its so cute!!
Awesome video, was very interesting to see all the different food people eat there. And lovely to see you enjoyed it so much, too. Tolja seems such a kind soul, when he smiles it makes me smile. And so are you. All the best for you! 💗
What a beautiful lovely place this winery is💕 I think Georgia is a very interesting country and i’m so happy you’re giving us a view of it❤️
Thanks Vika for your videos, I didn't know nothing about Georgia but now with you and your lovely family I know very interesting things! Beautiful country!
I think I would have liked the beans and walnuts I’ve never heard of that with the onions and the curry sounded really good. It was very interesting ❣️
What a beautiful setting & lovely people 🥰 Everything looks so tasty! 😋 I’d love to try the mushrooms & the eggplant! 💖💖
I love your videos! It is so refreshing to see another place that is so beautiful and rich in culture! Heartwarming to watch your family growing. And the food looks amazing!! :) Thank you for all the effort you put in! :)
I think the cucumbers are peeled because they are ridge cucumbers instead of English cucumbers (what you usually get in the grocery store). We have them in Austria and the outside is tough and sometimes a bit spiky, so you peel them 😊
It all looked delicious apart from the beans and nuts! Your husband loves food. His face lights up. I’m the same 😄
Culinary linguistics. Another dimension :) Very interesting and relaxing video- thankyou for the short virtual vacation.
Wonderful video content. Keep up the great work!! Everything is amazing! Praying for you.
Looks delicious! Also the Georgia scenery was postcard beautiful.
Your cinematography was just lovely Very enjoyable video
This is such a lovely video, thank you 😊
Oh man. I’m going to have to attempt these dishes. I also love anything stuffed - so the mushrooms and veggies would be my favorite. I also reduce salt/oil/cream in my dishes. I loved this video! The Georgian stove is badass and I love the way they rough-chopped the veggies! Vika’s travel food show ;-)
thanks for sharing your journey! much love!
The food looks wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing!
I have Georgian friends here in Budapest and their cuisine is all so delicious. I learned how to make Hachapuri and will work on making more of their amazing foods.
So interesting! Thank you so much for sharing this ❤️ Also you two seem so happy, I’m glad ❤️
Thank you for sharing all of these cool experiences with us. It has been so much fun watching your channel grow!
Love ur content ❤️❤️❤️
All of the food looks delicious! Thank you so much for creating this video!
