Asians have a thing for "floaties" in our drinks. (Think of having a smoothie that has chunks of fruit in it or a Ben and Jerry's ice cream where there's always texture.) The aloe is a "cooling" drink helping to lower the hot chi -- it also adds fiber. There's a vietnamese dessert soup that uses it and tastes great! The grass jelly is basically an herb flavored gelatin which also has a "cooling" effect on your chi. The basil seeds also behaves like putting chia seeds in your drink -- same texture and taste. Wait until you try the basil seed with poonpari seeds which has a spongee texture that soaks up the drink and then the basil seeds has a nice crunch. It's one of my favorite drinks growing up. For the coconut juice, typically when they serve you a fresh coconut juice in the coconut, they'll give you a spoon to scoop out the coconut flesh.

The pear juice is from Korea. It has Korean pear and A plant with a purple or white flower whose root is eaten as food or used as an ingredient in herbal medicine. It’s good for inflammatory and it’s good for sore throat relief. I’m Korean but I came to US when I was young. It has 8 grams of sugar. I could read Korean and speak Korean. I never seen that at the Korean market in California. I don’t buy Korean drinks but I love cooking Korean foods.

Telling a grown adult that's avoiding soda to try drinking water is the funniest thing I've read all day lol. Like no duh lol I'm 100% positive we all know water is the best alternative to not drinking soda 😂😂😂. The issue is plane water including sparling water with lemon isn't enough of a flavor to 100% use it to replace something as sweet and tasty as soda. Maybe giving the advice to try the new all natural sodas or sweet green tea could be actual suggestions that he may not know of already or thought to try lol. It's just he's definitely 100% thought to try water 😂😂😂

I'm so sorry to say, that my reaction on these kind of try-outs is always ambiguous. I admire and appreciate your effort to try mondial food and drinks. However, I am saddened by the way you proceed. I am an EurAsian, and have developed a curious and large palate. I have lived on both continents and travelled alot. I think I like most food and drinks bc my (grand-) parents taught us to consume or taste items in the authentic way and contexte. So, in your case, find out what kind of drink or snack you bought. (Google). Is it a drink for a meal or for comfort? Or for health? Asian chips and (fish) jerk aren't always considered snacks, but more as addition to a dish. And maybe the drinks taste better when cooled or with a cleansed palate. Imagine the impression of a random Asian tasting rootbeer, chocolate milk, smoothie and orgeata in two minutes 😮 I do hope that you'll continue to demystify drinks 🧋🧃🥤
