Thank you. I’ve seen them but never had a need. This one seems to be working well.

Stan, as always you do a great job of explaining the why and the what that you're doing around the homestead. I felt like I was in health class and the teacher was trying to explain 'that lesson' without having to say 'those words'. Hopefully that will work for Q-Tip so her feathers grow back. Also glad to hear that Chloe is on her way to healing! I am not on FB and Instagram and so hearing the backstory helped too. It's almost garden time...I worked in the garden this weekend since it was so nice out but we're still a few weeks away from planting in our zone. Keep up the great work, my friend.

Thanks buddy. I’m looking forward to garden season ourselves. I was just telling Madison about how we’ll be starting seeds in about a week. I’m really hoping for a great gardening season this year. The raised beds really helps with certain crops so we’re adding more of those this year. Hope you’ve been doing well and have a great start to your garden season

I've never had much luck with those saddles. I hope Q-Tip enjoys it and brings her a little comfort with her post-Bruce cigarette. :) We've had polish little ladies in the past -- and we're about to get 2 more as we recently moved and are establishing our homestead (organic veggie and pollinator gardens). We have 8 chickens that we are preparing for a predator-safe outdoor system. Although I lived for many years in NC and now reside in Tucson Arizona - land of the Saguaro. Raising layers is hard here in this zone (9b) as it gets so HOT and predators are vast. And, in the middle of 8 months of 80+ we get monsoons which are amazing but need to be planned against. The baby chicks are safe inside in their brooder for a few more weeks - then it's time to start transitioning. New subscriber and I'm looking forward to learning from you.

Welcome and thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds like you have quite the adventure ahead of you. I bet Arizona is a beautiful scenery. Id suspect the humidity there would be less which maybe can help balance out the heat stress on the chickens. Id be curious to hear how it goes along the way since the climates are so different. Polish chickens are so funny, they’ll always have a place here with us.

My wife had to put saddles on several of pur chickens. He had one rooster who was really rough on them and tore all their feathers out of their backs. Well he's tasted pretty good. But now the feathers won't grow back because the other hens tear the new feathers that are trying to grow.

@@TreasureForeverOfficial well the best way to describe him was an asshole. He would always try to accack my wife and me. Even after getting kicked several times.

Luckily the other chickens don’t seem to bother her any. Hopefully we can get some growth back and get her back to normal.

@Rocky Creek Homestead hopefully it works out for you. My wife's been researching stuff on the feathers growing back. If they loose then to late in the season you won't see any improvement till the next molting season.
