    Hello Steve! Thank you for this video. I’m expecting delivery of my new H95s sometime today. Would using an audio cable improve the audio resolution when playing audio from my iPhone 15 Pro? If so, what’s the best wired setup? USB-C to USB-C? USB-C to 3.5mm? Would I need an in-line external DAC in order to experience true 24-bit sound? Or is it even possible? Thanks for your help!

    @dannymcneal glad you liked the video! Yes, a 3.5mm cable would give the best sound. I keep an upgraded version in stock here: soundsheavenly.com/bo-play/150-2327-premium-braided-cable-for-beoplay-h95-hx-portal-h2-h4-h6-h7-h8-h8i-h9-h9i-headphones-with-metal-plugs.html#/3-length-2m

    I accidently visited your channel googling beolit20 from south korea. I own beosound a9, a6, beolit 20, and beosound 1, and hd599 and loving all of them😊. I was pretty sure that hd599 can be my last headphone after trying higher lineups from senheiser. Although blutooth, do you think h95 is worthy consideration to listen to music?

    So is the idea that you basically do the inverse of the headphones frequency response down or up to a median level? I take it this only works on pc/mac and isn't as easy for on the go or BT use? Is there a limit to the physical response of the drivers and between the two sets of headphones? So many questions :p but great video!

  • @soundsheavenly

    @soundsheavenly

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks! Yes, the idea is to do the inverse of the frequency response of the headphones to get a median level, plus optionally add on a bass boost to simulate the Dolby LFE effects channel for movies. Cheaper headphones won't work well, due to driver limitations, but any good pair of headphones should respond well within the excursion limits of the drivers. You could add a hardware DSP processor for portable use, but the free PC software is a great place to start if you want to explore getting into DSP processing.

    Hi Steve, Ihave a 3500 b&o receiver which is connected to a project debut carbon turntable via a creek phono stage and I am looking to upgrade my connecting cables! Which din plug connection do I need to use? Will it be a 5 pin or 7 pin din to 2 phono or does it not matter which I use? I already have my cable from the turntable to the phono amp which also carries a earth ground wire. Hope you can help me Steve, keep up the good work as you are very infomative! When you give me an answer I will order the cable from yourself! Thanks John.

    I'd personally prefer a flat response from my cans, and I'll choose what I'd like to modify. Otherwise I might as well buy Bose I fear.

    Good call, but starting with good quality headphones makes it easier to get a clean, flat response once the DSP is applied. I haven’t been impressed with any of the Bose cans I have tried lately...

    @@soundsheavenly Indeed. I don't think anyone with a discerning taste in audio rates Bose. They aren't even respected in the pro PA world, and concentrate on "disco" optimisation to suit the ear they tend to supply. Good 60-120 boost to mask the missing bottom end. Good 1-3k boost for snare and vocal presence. Good 8k+ boost to mask the missing top end. Or Bring Other Sound Equipment....

    @@SolisNotSolis "Bring Other Sound Equipment" - I like that! Interesting to note that I got a flat sub-20Hz response without distortion from a pair of £129 Sennheiser headphones once DSP filters had been added - the key is good quality drivers.
