​@@zenzenonline4604Well, even though this is 1 month ago, I'm just gonna reply anyways😃 So, in order to put the layer in the folder, you can put the layer ontop of the folder then, move it under the folder and there you go. Idk if people do that though, since, that's how I do it:)

Best way to learn light and shadow is through observation. HOWEVER the cheat sheet version is to find a photo/reference image that has a similar pose and lighting angle you have in your drawing and copy that. Or you can use 3D models from either your own making or you can use a program I use called Design Doll. Its free and the paid version is only for specfic uses like saving and opening design doll files but outside of that you can pretty much do everything in the free version with no trial period.

You can also use the overlay blending mode. It make your art glow a bit more.

It depends on the light source. If it’s the moon, it should be white, and the ambient light would be slightly blue-tinted (occurring on the high parts of the face like the cheekbones and brow ridge). The reflected light would probably be a bluish-gray color

I usually use the counterparts of both layer settings, by using darken instead of multiply or overlay instead of add. Since it’s more effective and looks better.

MIYANO IS SO CUTEE

This is how I've been shading for years! The screen and multiply and soft glow filters are all really nice for achieving different looks.

Also do you remove the first clipping layer from clipping when doing the second? If I don't then the orange doesn't show up very bright

Just a small tip: Don't draw the eyes too close to thr ears, you'll have a hard time drawing the proportions. Also, the ears should be placed lower than the eyes.

finally a helpful one! so many tutorials like "just make the highlights yellow and the shadows blue" but when i follow that, it still looks weird. but this here video actually helped make my shading pretty!

I suck at colouring cuz Ive been insecure about actually doing it and stuck with just drawing black and white for 80% of my life until just a few months ago. This is very easy to understand! ty and i hope I could somehow adjust this to my style

For this shading, you can also colour your whole character/Canvas, decrease the opacity and use an erazer airbrush to make the light fall onto parts of the character ^^♥︎

You can use black on Add blending mode and it acts as an eraser You can also use white on Multiply, and it does the same.
