Honestly, that's the best way to taste something for the first time that comes with a sauce. Try it without the sauce first, then try it with the sauce. That way, you can compare which way you like to have it: with or without sauce. So, I very much agree with Martine's thought process.

I was curious too. They only show one couple's reaction. The host interacts with every couple. I'm pretty sure they shoot on only one soundstage. So I think they shoot one duo at a time.

Y´all should try Icelandic food. 6 hour lamb, Salmon, Grouse, Porklegs. Delicious. and make them eat Icelandic style shark for punishment it is truly horrific, (in the old days they used to let it lie in human piss to get the poison out of it, today they do it with ammoniac). or the Icelandic style skate, (it´s a flat fish). both are equally disgusting. Love the show

I think you should throw in a “quarter prize & half punishment” and a “half prize with quarter of the punishment” as a surprise. Like, why get totally punished if only 1 or 2 things tempt you? If you only taste 1 food, you get two bites of punishment AND 1/2 the prize foods. If you taste 2 foods you get 3 bites of punishment and 1/4 of the prize foods. If you eat 3 or more foods, NOTHING….you get NOTHING! Good day sir! 😂
