@@jamiegdubois oh, it did. This was a point in the 90s where 2nd place didn’t get money, but we got wicker deck furniture that my parents still have. The audition process was very different back then, so hearing Amy talk about the modern process was interesting. Recently I was shopping online and saw a piñata shaped like the Alamo, and I asked my dad if he wanted it so he could smash it, lol!!!

Also being a trans ADHDer with a voracious appetite for ongoing learning about pretty much everything, I felt really seen by Amy's demeanor and love of continued learning. This was such a fun episode! (Also made me feel good to get a lot of the questions right!)

There are a lot of lesser known comedians that have come out and said that she stole jokes from them. She also has made a lot of really horrible jokes where she either tried to pass off something very serious as if it was nothing. Adding to that, some of the jokes she tells are blatantly racist and she just hides behind the excuse of being a comedian. One of the co-editors of the Guardian ended up writing an article calling her out for how racist some of her jokes were back in 2015 and her defence was this: “I go in and out of playing an irreverent idiot. That includes making dumb jokes involving race. I enjoy playing the girl who time to time says the dumbest thing possible, and playing with race is a thing we are not supposed to do, which is what makes it so fun for comics. … You can call it a ‘blind spot for racism’ or ‘lazy,’ but you are wrong. It is a joke and it is funny. I know that because people laugh at it.” For context one of the racist 'jokes' she told is: "I used to date Hispanic guys, but now I prefer consensual". She also makes jokes based on other peoples traumas and experiences, including a womans tragic death and Will Smith's assault of Chris Rock. When she was hosting the Oscars in 2022 she made a comment about how a lot of the jokes she wanted to make were cut by her lawyer and then said "Don't Look Up is the name of a movie? More like don't look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin's shotgun. I wasn't allowed to say any of that, but you can just come up and [slap] someone." For context the year before on the set for the film Rust Alec Baldwin shot a prop gun (it was supposed to be safe to use but because of negligence the gun had a real live round in it) and hit cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza, killing Halyna and injuring Joel.

As someone who videocalls my parents every night to watch Jeopardy!, I love Amy Schneider and am eagerly anticipating the Try Guys' doom here. :)

She was so wholesome and such a joy! I think she had a quiet confidence but seemed also like she didn't really care if she won or lost because it's not really for money or a title haha. I love that Zach's team could have won simply by not wagering at the end. Some of this game is truly just a gamble! (But if they didn't have the buzzer advantage that whole first round I am confident Amy would have demolished them.)

Prisons in the US are labor camps under the 13th amendment.
