Try DARK Shading, Light Skin Tone! Realistic Colored Pencil Drawing Tutorial for Beginners!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
@BMDPortraits shares another realistic portrait drawing tutorial using colored pencil. For this drawing tutorial I focus on the importance of using darker colored pencils even for a fair or light skin tones. A lot of colored pencil artists especially the beginners seem to be afraid of using dark tones on the skin tones but on this tutorial video I show how to do proper shading using dark tones colored pencil and how there dark colored pencils build and shape the realism of the drawing and in addition the proper way of blending everything to achieve beautiful, realistic, smooth skin tone. I use Prismacolor Premier colored pencil and Strathmore 300 series Vellum surface paper. My reference photo is BlackPink Jennie Kim.

Thanks and welcome
Omgg how do you draw so good? 😮
For East Asian portraits like Japanese, Koreans or Chinese. I prefer using mid tone colors like Caput Mortuum and I will switch to Walnut Brown if necessary to define shadows before adding darker colors. In this way, I can secure the value the skintone without overshading. This is what I did to the portrait on my Profile and I really managed to secure my desired output for the drawing BTW, Walnut Brown is slightly darker than Burned Umber and Van Dyke Brown but not as dark as Sepia.
Absolute Perfection. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

I Have begun to use Crayola colored pencils, and as I can see, the key seems to be patience, lightness of pressure, multiple layers of multiple colours, and then, (and only then?) use white pencil to mix all the the precedent colours... Thanks a lot for sharing you skills. All you videos are instructive.
