TRX Breacher: Proven Robotic Tech Demonstrator
Ғылым және технология
The Tracked Robot 10-ton (TRX) Breacher technology demonstrator supports Army objectives for a Robotic Combat Vehicle, executing dull, dirty and dangerous missions so Soldiers don’t have to. TRX’s Breacher payload is designed to perform dangerous obstacle-reduction tasks and is the result of a partnership with Pearson Engineering. TRX’s flatbed design integrates any payload with a class-leading payload-to-chassis ratio of 1:1. TRX is able to maneuver at speed with all formations and is transportable on CH-47 and C-130 aircraft. TRX also generates exportable power to support mission command operations and is hybrid-electric in support of the Army’s climate and electrification strategy.

@@vyros.3234 meh, B-21 is cool but it looks a lot like the B-2. No excitement.
Very cool to see hybric-electric drive systems being used in modern military vehicles. It probably helps a lot to reduce fuel consumption given that military vehicles tend to sit idling for a large portion of their life.

Oh sweet it’s got a tapeworm launcher on it
Oh ya, big question is the cost and armor. This thing could be so useful in so many situations getting a human in there or manned bulldozer or other vehicle to clear an area would be just too dangerous. If there's a place you need to get past, go on patrols, or push through, but there's obstacles you need to clear out then the idea is great. Real question then is cost and durability. If it's not tough enough to take some random 7.62 hits from some infantry in the area firing at it and keep working, and hopefully at least decent odds against a heavier machinegun or sniper rifle rounds to keep working, at least in basic driving side. If it can't survive infantry weapons, then it's not reliable enough to operate in basic dangerous areas. If it is armored to that level to mostly resist light attacks, then it's ok to send into more dangerous areas while providing covering fire. But then comes the cost, RPGs and other weapons aren't that rare, or mines, so it still needs to be expendable enough that you can handle loosing a few. After that, it's a general low intensity or out of combat clearance robot. Wich might be useful but in notably fewer cases as opposed to just using a dozer or such. Given how they focus on breacher in its name, I'm hoping it's more durable and able to handle getting shot and used in light combat, but being just 10 tons, does make me wonder if it's really that armored. Several parts sure don't look like it at least on this initial demonstration model. Might be an add on pack they'd plan to have as an optional upgrade for when used in combat. But then what's it's mobility and speed... Well, many questions worth keeping an eye on more news for this to answer. In any case, always like seeing more new and interesting hardware ideas. And even if not good for combat breaching, and more just general obstacle clearance out of combat it looks good enough there that I could see a few countries wanting to buy a few of these if price is reasonable.

I would be equally concerned about artillery. I also don't 100% get what this thing is supposed to do, assuming it's not meant to breach trench lines like we see in Ukraine.... (Saturation tactics maybe?)It doesn't look like it could clear a mine field granted an attachment for such could be not shown. (Yes I am aware they show a mine clearing line charge in the video. My point regards more to a mine clearing plow like you see on engineering vehicles.)

The bureaucrats are cheered when they develop their own killdozers but the average citizen is shunned and attacked for it when building their own. Anyways thanks General Dynamics, I will take a half dozen to be delivered, send the invoice to the bureaucracy.
My question is, how much time will it be held up by mechanics and or FSR's? I can tell you, engineer vehicles pull alot of weight overseas but hell if they don't break down at twice the rate. Wolverines, Panthers, ABV, etc all spent more time in shop then in the field. I just hope this thing is easy to work on.
@username_3715

Probably since it has no crew, probably less armor, is smaller etc there isn't as much weight on the mechanical components. Just speculation though

@@username_3715 I would hope, but with how much electronics this thing has being a drone, trying to source a fault probably takes twice as long.I remember trying to source a VIC3 in a ABV, and it took Jesus, 4 monsters and alot of cursing to find the issue.

this is the free battlepass vehicle right??
GD should make MQ-9X that uses battery's and has its whole top covered with solar panels. It should also have a mode to fly at the lowest speed possible to save energy. or create a Stealth MQ-9 that can carry racks with Switchblades that have HE warheads and AT warheads.

Trying to get retail investors. A few people see what's happening and they can look at companies right after December 1941 "boom", then right after September 2001 "boom", March 1965 "boom". Vice versa what happens after the government stimulus runs out or what happens when the contracts end "bust". Its the cycle of things. History does not repeat, but it rhymes.
