Pocket clip is meant more for putting it on a ballcap, for head-light use, it seems...

Possibly, but it would be quite weight forward. Thanks for commenting

Maybe you could clip it on a hat to use as a headlight.

That was my thought too, so that the light is kept out in front of the eyes/face a bit. DEFINITELY wouldn't like to have it clip that way in my pocket!

G'day Mark, I can only assume the clip position is for peaked cap mount. Plenty of other two position reversible jobs out there, I'm with ya, a definite oversight. Why on earth they put a mag charging port, (with the same or similar tactile feel), 180 deg around from the button is beyond me. If perhaps they recessed it, it actually would help with correct indexing as well as more definitively locate/engage the charging disc ...... or just go with USB-C ; ) On the positive side; in the absence of a tail button, I've found a magnetic base to be very, very handy. Apart from the usual car/tin shed type applications, I was toying with the idea of using it on a neck knife for another hands free option, but not solid enough through most sheaths to recommend, I usually carry a compass in that position anyway, ....... however, stab a knife, axe, saw into a tree/log at an appropriate angle, or jam it into some opportune crevice, or even tie it to something .... plenty of possibilities for an instant mounting point + you can still easily whip it off to carry around a campsite or when nature calls as examples. Cheers Duke. P.S. and just to go on with, .... if you dont carry a dedicated head torch, a Niteze headstrap is a real winner, ...... light weight, 2 X elastic straps to cover different sized "girths" of the light i.e. not limited to round tubes, and think I paid around 15 bucks in AUD.

The light could be mounted on a hat but it is a bit heavy and quite weight forward. I will take a look at the Niteze headstrap. Thanks for commenting Duke

@@MarkYoungBushcraft Yep there's certainly a point where a light is inordinately heavy for a peak or brim, I just cant think why else they'd do that.

Another nice review, Mark! Since I'm not fond of side-switches on lights (because they tend to be more difficult to find without looking at the light), as soon as I saw the magnetic charging port and the light switch on opposite sides, and looking as similar as they did, I said, "That's going to be a problem." And sure enough, it was one of the problems you mentioned. Also agree about the pocket clip position being awkward. The only good thing about having the pocket clip on the light is that you could orient by the pocket clip so you could tell whether you were feeling the on/off switch or the magnetic charging port. That depends on your remembering how you've got the pocket clip oriented, and not having it move around on the light by accident - not sure about how tightly the pocket clip is gripping the light itself, so I don't know if it might move around. All in all, not a light for me - although I do really like the color, LOL!

Hello, do you advise this flashlight to a pilot for exterior walkaround? I need a 30-40 meter range and clear view of the vertical stabilizer. Or do you have any other advice for this budget?

I don't have any knowledge or experience in aircraft but based on what you are asking, I would say this light would work for you. Thanks for commenting

Good review but not the best choice for me for this flashlight. Same reasons you listed. Did it have a hole were you could tie a landyard?
