My HR person told me I don’t fit in to the culture of my company because I stay to myself and focus on my work, as opposed to chatting, lunching, and gossiping. I gave notice and feel free!!!

I love being home alone. No rude cashier's on cell phones, no blocked streets waiting for people to end their conversation, no tailgaters pushing you down the road, people hiding from you in Walmart they think you might need help with something, blocking the gas pump and not getting gas....Stay home 🏠

If I were trying to fit in, I’d probably married, both of us working and living paycheck to paycheck to afford all the bills, having 1.89 kids, a house. No thanks. I save a lot of money and travel whenever I want (solo). My free time is my free time. I also don’t have to appear happy on social media to be nice to people I don’t like just to be socially acceptable.

I was homeless and travelled around for some years. I broke down. The past few years I've picked up the pieces and am financially independent. But my day to day life feels miserable. I miss the freedom but don't want to be homeless again. Life is so confusing

I’ve been told many times in my life that I have the personality profile of a serial killer just because I’m quiet and alone most of the time. I find it hilarious. But being alone has made me more aware of myself, and I feel like I can see more clearly how other people really NEED socialization. Like, I noticed people are SO uncomfortable with silence. They always feel the need to make small talk if there’s any silence lingering for too long.

You are so right. Everybody feels the urge to talk just to be talking. Most people don't really talk abt anything worth talking abt. The older I get the harder it is to have mature, intelligent conversations.

I live in UK and here everyone in the work place uses British banter which essentially means taking the pi*s out of eachother and laughing off insults even though deep down ur hurt by the insult. Thats pretty much what we do down here and i hate it. I like to keep to myself and when i dont engage in the 'banter' i get called a wierdo. In the workplace u dont hear about the importance of family, investing, working out and health, instead its extremely common to hear about drugs, alcohol and party culture. If i went to someone and tried talking to them about fitness they'd probably look at me like im some alien

I'm not pigeonholing it all, if you read what I'm saying, I'm making a general Point. After living in America for quite some time, my opinion is Americans are greedy and materialistic, and they have to be "somebody," because if they are a "nobody," then their life is perceived as worthless and valueless, by themselves, and more importantly, by other Americans. And in my opinion, watching Americans grasping for notoriety and being "unique," is in part, destroying the fabric of American society and culture. -Peter Harris
