Aww! My daughter does the same thing every morning. I'm her favorite thing in the whole world..I don't deserve it, she's amazing. She makes me want to take better care of myself (since I'm realizing how I should care for her most favorite thing). She's 9 1/2 yrs old. Every morning she wakes up and calls out for me and says "I NEEEED you" and we cuddle for a long while. Precious, precious girl!

You just amaze me... out of nothing comes something balanced, well designed and fascinating. You inspire so many.

I loved this and would love more. I loved watching your process from beginning to end and reminding me to let go of trying to make it all look perfect and to quite simply just make art. It has always been a healing outlet for me and then I let myself get overwhelmed. I’ve just started back to it last year after being in hospital for over 35 days and 6 surgeries. I needed my art more than ever. I’m very ready to get back into art journaling like you do and have been following you for a bit now and I’m learning again about just doing. I love this piece, Marta! Very inspiring to give it a go and use more of my beautiful collage papers (also some of Art by Marlene). Also it’s nice to hear about your daily life and I don’t mind long video’s at all. I take a few days to watch them, but YT makes that easy because it remembers were you stopped. Thanks for sharing the process and the project!

"Just Do It" by Marta. Watching this now, you just made me think of something, that I tend to do. And that is, looking at what the end result will be, and I mostly can't. But, I don't need to. It's like putting some pressure on how it will end up, when the art is in the making...the journey. This project of yours, makes me feel like it's a therapy art, being the object of the work, is to not know how it will end up, because that is not what matters. This type of process is perfect for me, because I think it will stop me from desiring perfection. Isn't our art supposed to be calming...healing....a desire to create without any expectations, a way of letting go of what the end result could be?. I want to 'just do it', without the need for perfection. I would truly love to see you do some more 'therapy art' type things, that allows us to be free of expectation of the perfect end result. I hope this makes sense.:)

I've used that brush soap for years. It will remove dried oil paint from brushes as well, it just takes a little work. Good product.

Oh Marta, I know exactly how you feel. I have been wanting to have my own KZread Channel for a very long time now and every time I go to record I freeze, I have that voice in my head saying that I'm not good enough. I have managed to record about 5 videos that I haven't edited or published and my Channel remains empty. You're courageous for getting over that first hurdle.

Abstrakt is not my thing, but as a background for a theme your Videos are so helpfull. Materials, paints using together and your thouhgts your telling,make it attraktiv to go for it myself Have a beautiful day!

I loved watching your thought process while you worked! It turned out so great! I especially love the shading beneath the line at the bottom of the page. It looks like the top of the page pops off the bottom of the page and gave a beautiful dimension.

I love the abstract art that I have seen you doing. I have just started with the abstract art, and I have torn out and thrown something away. It was good, and then I went overboard. I have to learn when to stop. I am sure it will get better. It is good to just start as you say.

I loved this video! I totally relate to what you were saying about the obsessive thoughts that get in the way of making videos. It is frustrating, stifling, and maddening! I get so sick of myself sometimes because I know it is a stupid, petty, waste of time...ugh! I couldn't believe my ears when you shared that. It is somehow comforting to me to know that someone else struggles with that the same way I do. Wow. I have been making the same efforts to be more loose, and carefree with my art. because I was getting to bogged down with my thoughts, causing unproductive anxiety, like being in quicksand. I do not like the stress of being an OCD perfectionist. Oh boy...sorry for the novel! Thanks for your inspiration...your timing was perfect! Lil hugs xo

I found this to be a really instructive video Marta. I have a lot of trouble just letting go and creating without overthinking everything which I have found is very anti-creative!I have the feeling as though someone is going to check it out. It’s annoying and takes from the pleasure I feel when I sit down to create.This type of video will be a big help…I can paint along and hopefully add layers and layers without stressing. Thank you. Also do you have flip through of your journals….finished or not. I would have loved to see the wine book you were looking through early in this vid. There is never a piece you make that is not beautiful and inspiring to me. I wish i had the courage to just play like you do. I think i would if I had all the little extra things you do that add a little more depth and texture like the stencils I finally got some the other day, still need some of those neocolor crayons and mark making tools and ink sprays and paints with the tips and modeling paste... then I will be set. I have the rest. I love that your daughter also enjoys doing this with you. Both of my daughters do this with me as well. I dont have alot of room in my home its a snall apartment otherwise i thought about making videos as well of all 3 of us and our journey learning and creating things in the junk journal and art journal world. Never know what the future may hold though. God bless you and your family. Please never stop making your videos. I would not have any inspiration to do this if you didnt and I am sure you inspire so many others. Have you ever had a drawing or contest for your viewers for a piece of your art? Do you put them on etsy? I would love to own a piece just like this all my fav colors.

Just started following you a couple of weeks ago. I love watching you create all of your beautiful art💜 I have a question...Why do you add masking tape when you work in a book or journal? I tried to find the answer to my question hoping someone else asked...but I haven't been able to find the answer yet.💜

Hi Shadow Girl. Marta uses the masking tape mostly so the paints will not get onto the other pages underneath. It keeps the paint from seeping through. And also I believe she uses it as texture as well.

She has said she adds masking tape to the center to stop bleed through and also uses it to add inexpensive texture on the page.
