Everyone is dead including his parents, no dragon balls, not even beerus and whis are around, and eventually his whole universe got wiped out by the god of everything. Now he lives in an alternate, alternate timeline of his future timeline where he cant really interact with any of his loved ones without interfering with their timeline. The few things he has going for him is he prevented the buu saga from happening in his time and he got a hot girlfriend. honestly, i think they should have let him stay in the main timeline. Its not like the one he is in now is any better and it would be more interesting if he did.

The appearance of Trunks is my personal favorite DBZ moment. When me and my friend were kids, we were so hyped to finally see Goku as a supersaiyan, but then we see this mystery fighter who is a supersaiyan and easily beats Freezia!!! We were freaking out and had no idea who he could be and were in suspense for the next episode.

utterly disgusting how lord freeza was disrespect here to hype up trunks debut. lol. not even one hit from freeza or a clash. just one shot. come on he was mecha and stronger. but of course not as strong as ss. but we never knew since he never got a chance to power up... also humans creating beings stronger then ss and an alien being who was the strongest until goku ascended. how gero did this is still P.I.S. to this day!! but cell makes sense tho.

Trunks, I think, was always my favorite Dragon Ball Z character. He was one of the few Saiyans with common sense, and tried his best to stop the current threat before the situation got worse. A shame that Kid Trunks is so unremarkable in comparison. Hell, you'd think Kid Trunks meeting Future Trunks in Dragon Ball Super would inspire the kid to be as cool as his adult self. I know that Trunks and Goten finally were allowed to age into actual teenagers, but I feel like it's not going to make them more "serious" in the long run.

@@sheflashedus246 Done giving out Senzu, but that doesn't mean much when most of his battles are against people he could fodderize in Z and doesn't do that in GT for no reason. When it comes to the Shadow Dragons most of them are bozos he didn't need to struggle against and only 4 were actually worth the time spent. The other 3 were weak but Goku toyed with them or let his guard down and they put him in a bad situation. Oceanus was stronger than the others, but had a disappointing ending much like the other 3, and Nuova, Eis, and Syn are all okay.

What i like about trunks is dat he doesnt have all that "saiyan pride" so he doesnt hesitate to end the fight quickly and efficiently.

Trunks has major PTSD. Man's witnessed everybody get killed by the androids, then got faded for years. He finishing folks off before any power ups or anything like that. Creased up his capsule corp jacket the night before, grabbed his Tims, and tried to make his future better

Not only the best intro but also, one of the cleanest transitions between story arcs. Brought the villain back and killed him in the same breath and his daddy. Defined SS status as God Tier.

You know trunks had to show out it was the first time he got to beat anybody💀

Vegeta was not training because he was making trunks😂

That was King Cold's final form. He doesn't have transformations like Frieza. Frieza is built different. He's a mutant. His "final" form is actually his base, but he had to create his other forms to restrict his power. His second form looking like King Cold is presumably an homage to his dad. Frieza's transformations are actually him untransforming back into his base. Golden was his first real powerup transformation.

King Cold was weaker than Captain Ginyu, which is why Frieza called the Ginyu Force to help him on Namek and not his dad. Frieza also told Goku that Ginyu was the 2nd strongest in the universe, which means King Cold is much weaker than Ginyu. Even Cui and Appule are vastly stronger than King Cold, which is why Frieza would rather employ them in his army than his weak father who has no attacks. King Cold had to step down and give Frieza the position because he was afraid he was going to get overthrown by King Vegeta, who's power level was less than 10,000, which means King Cold's power level is only probably comparable to Mr. Satan (but probably much weaker, because at least Mr Satan survived an attack from Cell and he actually punches and kicks, unlike Cold who has neither ki attacks nor is able to punch or kick. If he could punch and kick, he would have done so against Trunks). It's true, Toriyama literally confirmed it in issues 579, verse 11:19 of the Holy Daizenshuu.

@@N.i.E.M.O i know yo ass a troll, but just because i know other people in this community are dumb enough to believe you, i feel the need to point out that king cold was stated multiple times to be as strong as frieza. he was actually called a "Second frieza" he's that strong in just his second (or by some implications first) form. And all of frieza's family are mutants, this includes king cold. frieza was a mutant among mutants because he also has high potential which is something not implied for king cold, and if anything the opposite is implied. HOWEVER based on some statements in french guidebooks you could say cold was stronger than frieza even was (this would be the implication that cold would of been stronger than frieza if he transformed) a suppressed mecha frieza is also stated as somewhat weaker than cold in the anime, though gohan mentions frieza's power can go much higher than his current level of suppression, it's unclear if cold was also suppressing himself in his form. Point is, be it weaker or stronger than frieza, cold is DEFINIATELY around frieza's level. cold NEVER feared vegeta and thought nothing of him or the saiyans. it was frieza who feared the saiyans and feared king vegeta overthrowing him. even in this video you can see it's frieza who's afraid of super saiyans, not king cold. Cold may be able to transform as well, as in the dragon book it is stated that he appears to be the sort who could transform. and toriyama makes 0 statements on king cold other than only he and frieza have that level of abnormal power. In summary stop trolling on the internet and get a life, this community has enough brain dead people in it as is without trolls spreading misinformation because they think it's funny.

I was trying to mock all the people who go around proclaiming King Cold to be some chump jobber who could have been taken out by Raditz just because he let Frieza be in charge. I already know full-well that King Cold is stated in the manga to be at Frieza's level, with the anime specifically declaring him to be **much** stronger than Frieza (not to mention supplementary material such as T3 stating him to be more powerful than both Frieza *and* Cooler). I feel that King Cold in his 'second form' was already stronger than 'final form Frieza', which is evidenced by his confidence that he could take on someone who defeated his son. That would also mean that a 'final form King Cold' would logically be (if we are to take Frieza's transformation multipliers at heart) between Perfect Cell and 'Super' Perfect Cell level. This would essentially make him more powerful than even Supreme Kai - which checks out, as King Cold only ever warned Frieza about messing with Majin Buu and Beerus, which would be the only two beings that Cold would have known about which would exceeded a power beyond his maximum. As for why Cold never bothered to transform against Trunks, it would make sense that Cold is simply too old to be able to utilize his full power anymore. Just like DBZ-era Frieza, Cold stays in a suppressed state to reserve his power. But unlike Frieza, who reserved his power due to inexperience and youth, King Cold suppresses himself because his body is too old to contain that level of power anymore. After all, he may be old enough to have witnessed the original rampage of Majin Buu. That makes him pretty damn old.

@@TheIrishRushin It's a cool and popular fan theory, but if we judge the scene by the rest of the series, and Toriyama's writing tropes, there has been almost zero instances of a character being unable to show off their full power (if they had the capability of doing so) at some point. I mean, when Frieza first told us he had four different forms, we *knew* we were going to see all of them. When Frieza said he wasn't using his full power, we *knew* Goku wasn't going defeat him until we saw Frieza's full power. Then there's Cell. We *knew* he was going to achieve his Perfect Form long before he ever actually did, because it's been set up. In DB, if something about a particular character or ability is set up, it *will* have a payoff. Granted, that payoff may be really lame - such as in the very case with King Cold, who is set up to be an even more powerful foe than Frieza (according to the anime at least), but is taken out just as easily as Frieza was.

Trunks would be my favorite DBZ character if he didn't get consistently washed up until he went back to the future. Bro has two(2) cool moments and they're at his introduction and exit from the series (until super where, you guessed it, more washing. You'd think this man was laundry the way he be getting washed all the time, he truly is his father's son)

@@godspeedredeicieli4384 Cooler was actually WEAKER than Frieza because he was simply born with less power, and in order to compensate, he constantly stays in his fourth form, and it is believed that spending essentially his whole life in that fourth form gave him access to the 'fifth form' (which was slightly stronger than 100% fourth form Frieza), in essence, he was straining but he wasn't training. King Cold however rivalled Frieza's final form with just his second form but lacked the potential or motivation to go beyond. He was basically sitting on his ass more than his son was at this point and likely lost any capacity to further transform. And all this was likely why he never really cared about his sons. King Cold had been a mutant in his own species, and Cold had been the one to actually expand his organisation with his sheer power, but after stepping down he realised neither of his sons were going to ever really be as powerful as he once was, simply resorting to coddling 'the stronger one'. It could be argued that King Cold's power might be a result of the massive expansion of his empire actually requiring effort on his part (thus, 'training') and the only reason Frieza was not as strong was because he was basically handed everything he could have ever wanted, he never actually pushed himself until Namek (I believe it was implied that Frieza only ever had to transform into his second form before Namek). If we're going into non-canon, Lord Chilled was deleted by a 50~ million SSJ Bardock, and that was in his 'first form', which implies that first form Chilled was anywhere between 4-40 million if we assume that Bardock had gone from 220k to 1 million after his 'death'. The Cold Family is actually getting weaker (only considering power level from birth) with every generation, simply compensating for that fact with new and further transformations.

Cooler was actually not as powerful as either Mecha-Frieza nor King Cold. The Cooler movie actually takes place in an alternate timeline in which Goku defeated Frieza quickly enough that he was able to escape Namek on the ship with Gohan and Piccolo. This is why in the movie, Goku does not know Instant Transmission, nor can he transform into a SSJ at will. The movie actually takes place *before* Mecha-Frieza and King Cold show up, which also explains why Cooler does not mention trying to avenge Cold. To further back this up, the movie literally released whilst the original anime was still in the middle of the Frieza vs SSJ Goku fight on Namek. People placing the movie after the arrival of Trunks (which are most people) are mistaken.

How can Toriyama dislike Vegeta so much while seemingly, and simultaneously, liking Trunks so much? 😔

King Cold in his final form was stronger than Kaioshin, but seeing as how Cold is extremely old (old enough to have been around during Majin Buu's original rampage), his body is no longer capable of containing his full power without killing him. Thus he remains in his 'second form'.

Then I watched weekly, just to see more Trunks kicking ass, just to figure out I was waiting patiently for something that would never come 😭 Either way, I still like Trunks more than the rest.
