Trumpet Talk | How to use a TRUMPET caller | a CONVERSATION around the NEW INTEREST in an OLD TOOL

Спорт

Join Kerry Terrell, Mark Prudhomme and I as we discuss TRUMPET turkey callers. I enlist the help of these gentlemen to help explain the "ins 'n' outs" of the callers as well as their experiences in using them for over 20 years. We examine everything from trumpet composition, basic sounds made possible with it and some of our "in the field" observations. #pinhotiproject #turkeyhunting #hunting

You won’t catch in the woods with out a trumpet or Wingbone or both with me in the turkey woods. I’m not even that great on them but I have seen their power. My first eye opening experience was like they mentioned. It was the response I got back from a hen. I had ran a box and pot and mouth call and nothing responded. It hit the wingbone and she got fired up. If not I would have keep walking on. She ended up having a gobbler with her and I called them in and my father in law killed the gobbler. What made it hit me more that day was she would only respond to the wingbone. I tried to switch over to mouth call once I got them fired up and got them coming in but they would only respond to the trumpet. And I have seen the same thing happen since then every spring with hens and gobblers. From that day on I think 5 years ago now I haven’t went in the woods with out a suction call of some type. Some mornings I carry both a trumpet and a wingbone.
