So Helya turns all the Plagues into minature Corrupted Bloods? That actually sounds like it shores up the weakness of the Plague pay-off cards, because for something like Tomb Traitor, the only downside is if your opponent draws the Plague too early the card's offline. Now with Helya, you're basically guaranteed to have it active.

Yeah compare that to Hakkar, which was a 9 mana card and only had it on deathrattle and shuffled only one in and in YOUR deck as well. Corrupted blood dealt one more damage but these additional plague effects are probably better than that too. Ok sure it grew exponentially on its own but safe to say that helya is so much better on so many levels

Also I imagine this de k will be used alongside Algalon. With his ability to change your hero power so you can be looking at the top card of their deck every turn and shuffling back anything that isn't a plague.

Steamcleaner removes current plagues, which is strong. You'll still need to have your own condition in the meantime, because the Death Knight can add more plagues to your deck for attrition-style matchups.

Doesn't Helya affect plagues for the rest of the game though? Unless you've played every single plague generator the inevitability is still present.

I would personally play Helya in my deck even without the other Plague cards, because it's so much good value on its own.

I love that they go into the direction of multi rune decks instead of just making good cards and gameplans for each rune. Sure not all of them have the multi rune but they work best in that environment which keeps deck building for deathknight very interesting. Imagine if they continue like this how itll look in a year or 2.

Helya all on her own is a win condition. Combine that with a few of the other cards in the Rainbow variant and you have a really strong long-term strategy

Control Priest already runs Steamcleaner because of Druid and Relic DH. DK will just encourage then to continue to do so. Ofcourse if you discover a second Helya, they're in trouble.

Actually psyched for this archetype

You could even use Algalon to _bury_ a Plague so that Tomb Traitor is almost guaranteed to remain live.

The only other shuffle something into your opponent's deck strategy that comes to mind is Bomb Warrior, which was pretty succesful Hakkar doesn't count, no serious deck has ever played it as a "shuffle first then eventually win" wincon, it was always some kind of combo finisher

@@meanberryy turning off Reno effects was absolutely not the sole reason Bomb Warrior was good, it was good because it was basically the first midrange deck that could shift into a control deck with inevitability and if things went right could summon 6 Boom-Bots and a 7/7 on turn 7 or even 6

Man they really want rainbow dk to be a thing. I see people running Steamcleaner unironically with all the mech synergy if this archetypes pop off. But the issue is how do you make this better than blood DKs gameplan of just "gain a crapload of health and win via attrition"

@@Karsh. Yeah, but it does not play into what Rainbow wants, which is Corpse Spenders for the Legendary Spell. They could still run a smaller package, but Rainbow doesn't have as much Control capabilities.

Wow for the first time ever I want to play DK. This will be awesome in Duels: turn for play hell lady, refresh mana crystals and get em looping. Ppl thought my menagerie rush bomb warrior was despair.

Just to be sure, but the plagues don't stop the Pure Paladin condition, right? Because most of those cards say "If your deck has no neutral cards", or something similar, so in theory because plagues are DK cards, The Countess for example would still trigger as normal, since there are no neutral cards in the Paladin's deck.

Remember Trumps opinion on Curses. I still love the clip where he looses against a Warlock with curses as mech paladin and still keeps his opinion on curses haha.

Plagues also are extremely strong against Sharp Eyed Seeker.

Shuffle in deck cards are always incredibly slow to take effect. This archetype seems very fun though!

I mean these shufflers all shuffle in multiple meaning it is far more likely to hit than say bombs from bomb warrior. Also nothing is severely understatted so it isn't like you are taking a massive tempo loss for playing a 4 mana 4/4 especially if they draw a non-blood plague. Frost Plague is going to be the most annoying one by far since people tend to play their hands in a given way. I play 3 mana card on turn 3 because I can play 4 mana card on turn 4. Oh no, I drew frost plague and now have to play a 2 drop (for 3 mana so I can't even hero power) because my whole hand costs 1 more.

As someone who has ruined multiple friendships from bomb warrior, I’m very excited to lose the few friends I have left with plague Death Knight

As a Dk player, I'm looking forward to, super hyped. But I'm thinking, is filling your opponents deck with traps that may or may not draw good enough? The golem is sick tho

What I find interesting is that the DK cards thus far open up rainbow death knight considerably. While you’re not spending corpses as consistently, you still get a bit of payoff with 1 rune cards.

I wasn't that interested in Death night on release, it had some cool cards and fun interactions. but with Helya... i might actually start playing more of it! this seems like a dope archetype to play.

See, weapon makes you want to say 2 unholy 1 frost, but every other plague payoff card has been 1 unholy max so I'm personally tempted to run this in rainbow DK and just discover into the weapon.

Helya and the other cards are making rainbow death knight look great! I really hope they make unholy, freeze, blood, and rainbow all competitive. Or atleast support all types. Cause so far no blood card yet for expansion.

Hakkar was bad because he was nine mana and still needed an activator. 4 mana 4/3 isn’t GOOD but it’s not abysmal like Hakkar, you can survive a -1 tempo loss.
