A few years ago there was a county sheriff in NJ who was up for re-election. He was a terrible sheriff in his first term but convinced himself that he was the best thing to ever happen to the county. The real trouble is lying as being a president; which alienates allies, creates financial uncertainty (among else), makes your govenment less reliable source of information than the enemies, etc. That is a situation, that just won’t work at all, in a democratic country. And that is why russia, iran, china are so happy to see Trump as a president. His only friends internationally are despots, dictators, and far-right populists.

I admire your belief that education will solve the problems of hate filled people who prefer clinging to the most vile conspiracy theories & tripe. They've made a choice, a delusional one but a choice none the less. Believing all we have to do is "educate them" is naive & ignores the enormous hostility they're operating with. It fuels their fire & their absolute belief in their own "rightness" & entitlement. You can't educate Trump because he's a diagnosed narcissistic sociopath who's created a cult of personality to suck in the needy, the angry, the stupid & the unwary. All his lies, crimes, failures & bankruptcies were well known before 2016 but he was able to win the electoral college majority while losing the popular vote. TV news channels gave him over $1 Billion dollars in free publicity while Clinton running a terrible campaign. That's all it took to take American democracy closer to Fascism than it's ever been. I wish education could fix what's rotten & vile in part of America's soul. Maybe it will for future generations but what do we do with the 72+million voters said "4 more years" & believe the election was "stolen"?? When people start to treat ballots like bullets, civil war isn't far behind even if it's a cold war.

Having better education also makes people see, if there is abnormal/sick, like Trump; like the doctors warned in 2016. If people have better education, they will NEVER elect such a bad individual as their leader.

The staff have been burning candles to cover up the stench in the Oval Office since he's been holed up in there. @@ArizonaWillful Dude (Dudess?) I invite you to consider…. a pardon is NOT a presumption of innocence or condoning the crime(s). It is, however, part of the consensus Biden hopes to achieve. Not good (for anybody) to nail the Trump rat-bastid to the wall and let him hang there. For our beloved country to move forward…. move forward…. we have to rise above some limitations. Trump is such a limitation. He did not commit his offences with the idea of being pardoned…. so throw that one away. He did CRAP (yes) but (work with me on this one) KARMA will take care of all situations (in the short-term and in the long-term). Karma (cause & effect) runs the show, always has. By pardoning him we flush him down the toilet and, because I believe he has a little gem of a conscience in there somewhere, he will be grateful and then disappear (NOT to reappear in, like, 2024). Like Nixon, he will be mindful that he cannot hold his head high in public anymore (because he does not have an innocent heart).

It's not revenge. It's justice. He should stand trial. Not be persecuted with pitch forks and executed by a mass mob. If he stands trial and is found guilty, he should be punished accordingly. But I really doubt that will happen even in a civilized manner. He may not have yo answer for all the people that died on his watch but he will stand before God and he will receive judgement then.

Trump cannot pardon himself, and he'll never resign to get a pardon from Pence. Accepting a pardon is an admission of guilt, and Trump is incapable of admitting he ever did anything wrong. Trump is a textbook narcissist whose delusion-bubble of self-perfection has just been burst. Incapable of accepting a reality in which he is less than a perfect eternal winner whom everyone loves, he can only deny reality, rage at others who he must blame for his failure since he isn't capable of blaming himself, try to destroy anyone who dares to utter a word counter to his delusion-bubble fantasy world, and spin lies and conspiracy theories in an attempt to maintain his false reality.
