As a former lay minister we were always taught that if you didn't know ALL your congregation by name at least, your church was too large or you were not good at your job. When you have a personal crisis, your megachurch pastor isn't coming over to hold your hand and pray you through it - you'll be lucky if a sub-associate assistant to the deacons secretary prays with you on the phone.

Many times, people who become so obsessed with fighting something are often hiding their own proclivities for that very thing. It’s a well documented psychological behavior.
