the THING is just that you fridge's temperature will increase and you'll use more electricity to make it cool

sometimes you really can't put hot food into refrigerator because the pot is hot and it could break the glass shelf

Pretty sure this "myth" was never about the safety of the food, you don't put hot food in the fridge for the safety of the fridge

My roommate is adament that there must be something bad about putting hot food in the fridge. Hopefully, this informs him.

So it's myth then, some ppl say it will reduce the life of the refrigerator. Not because of safety reason for the food.

Your might be right about the food but did you know when you put hot food in the refrigerator it messes up the temperature controller, making the refrigerator not working properly. So if you want to save money fixing your refrigerator don't put really hot food in it let the food cool for a while true facts.

I removed my cooked chicken from oven and forgot to put it in the refrigerator for 4 hours . the temp of the room was 17 Celsius . do you think I have to throw it away? Considering that boiling food takes time to get to room temperature

Bread loaf size glass dish of rice pudding goes on at about 11:45 pm. I watch one "nay" video , woman with English accent maybe... Then yours.... I am going to bed... Pudding custard huge with eggs for breakfast, yay!

It is TRUTH if hot food goes in a sealed container in the fridge. Sealing hot food before refrigeration makes it's time to cool a lot longer and can create an anoxic environment for some really bad pathogens. This is general food safety as a certified food handler:) OPEN hot food as it cools and seal it after it is cold!

This “certified food handler” is wrong… Warm temps = bacteria growth. The sad reality is it takes a solid 30 seconds to simply Google and prevent yourself from doing what some people have spent a lifetime falsely promoting, which in most cases this ignorance can lead to some pretty nasty outcomes. Give your refrigerator some credit and let it do its job.

Not safe, lol. You will warm up all the other food in the fridge.

I was thinking the same thing! I'm confused because in his kitchen nightmare episode they complained that food will get sour.( in this case a sauce i think) Perhaps she forget to mention the nutritional perspective?

@@DanielpaulZ get sour yes, but not toxic. It depends what's your purpose, I put mine in the fridge for some minutes whenever I'm in a hurry and don't want to eat hot food.
