True life: Dressing my paralysed body

In this video i take through a typical day of what its like to get ready with a disability. I am paralysed from the chest down due to an accident I had in 2014, where I fell down the stairs. Since then I have become something known as tetraplegic, C4/C5. This injury has affected my arms, my hand function and I am unable to move from my chest down.
I have a team of PAs that help me with day-to-day life such as cooking, cleaning, Getting ready etc... As I am unable to do these things by myself anymore.
in this Video you will have an idea of how i put on a pair of jeans, tops, how I transfer from bed to wheelchair, how I get around, how I do my make up etc

Either you were wealthy before your accident, you had a huge settlement or your husband has an amazing job. Otherwise, you may not have all the help you have. You are very fortunate. Unfortunately not everyone can afford assistance. You are so blessed!

@@criconinvestments7723 I didn’t know that, however in hindsight she did say in the video she ran a successful business and she has revenue from YT. I must’ve not listened closely enough the first time I watched. My great Aunt is in a wheelchair, she has someone help her around the clock, she’s a Vet and that pays for her assistance.

@@wendydayz6673 Oh, ok. Yeah, they didn't mention it in the video but I do know that veterans are categorized differently by our government, sometimes to their disadvantage. If you have an organized coalition for aging in your city or state, they may be able to help if she still needs anything

@@criconinvestments7723 totally false, not an attack please, but Medicare only pays 80% and will NOT pay for aids, though Medicaid will but the system is quite broken for options, to get Medicare in the US you have to go on SSDI which restricts income to about $1400 a month, if u earn above that you lose the Medicare, thats $16,800 a year plus benefits, around 25K, disability costs light years beyond that per year, broken system in need of reform

@@criconinvestments7723 In the united states you would never get this kind of quality support and around the clock care on medicare or medicaid they would put you in home and lock you away! the care would be deplorable go visit any public care center - the usa does care about the quality of persons life

Your video is great. I am a T5 para and have been now for 26years. One thing I wanted to share with you that I wish someone would have told me was that although crossing my legs made me feel more stable and balanced, it also caused horrible scoliosis and hip dysplasia. I thought with rods in my back down to T10 that I wouldn’t have to worry about scoliosis. However, in June of 2018, at Mayo Clinic, I had 2 major back surgeries to fix my scoliosis and sever Charot Spinal Joint disease. I’m sharing in hopes to help others. Thanks
