When I was doing tree research abroad in Costa Rica, my colleagues were studying leaf cutter ants. They were seeing how fast they go, and they marked out a distance with little pieces of red paper. But one of the ants decided it was a leaf cutting and picked it up to take back to the nest. So among all the green you could see a little bit of red slowly moving up the trail.

I have to say every time you mention David in your videos I feel honored to have been chosen to be in your videos portraying the”Ant” Who can forget my all time Academy award nominated as Best Crustacean the role of the bubble crab. There are David’s all over the world but there is the one & only... I am The David.

Finally got around to watching this one. As usual I learn something so thank you. The whole concept of aphids being cows to ants is deeply fascinating. Also, if you're feeling weird about all the secretions, just remember that you probably have a big bowl of secretion in the morning with some plant matter in it, or perhaps you put some secretion in your morning cup of plant matter dirt water.

You've got me thinking: if you cast an anthill in aluminium bronze and then drill out/put in a light bulb to make a chandalier, it would look so cool! Then again, it'd probably be expensive and you have to guestimate the right amount to melt, as well as finding an anthill. Anyway, thanks for putting out pretty cool videos

Literally last night I dreamt I was an anthropomorphised ant with a colony of other anthropomorphised ants and other stuff... And I developed a romantic relationship with an anthropomorphised onion woman. She was attractive yeah, but she only made me cry. Le sigh. Why do I do this to myself?
