He generaly praise FX guns in that video. Then after the dubber video, he use his same "favorite" gun, to demonstrate how porly made it is. So from one video to another, he seemed to change his opinion.

But I got a feeling he’ll just run your mouth and not shoot it you got a lot of comments but you don’t do shit shoot that gun 200 yards prove me wrong you better get a really big way to measure that use a big piece of paper

Not FX slug liner well but it did pretty damn good none the less. He complained about a few quirks mainly safety and reliability but I believe he gave credit where it was due in multiple areas. One very important one for Huben trying to bring slugs to mainstream air guns. Another for using a hammerless design that no one else has been able to pull off in the same manner.

It is sad to see a guy try to get likes and follows in this way... The guys down in Africa could teach you quite a few things - the first being humility, the second being how to shoot and the third being not blaming the tools for the result - especially not when they are accepted throughout the fraternity as being some of the best tools money can buy... Having had the priviledge of spending time in conversation with - and on the range - with several world champions "from down in Africa" I KNOW the skill and knowledge these guys bring to the table - and here is the newsflash - not one ever said that Lothar Walther is crap or only FX is good - and Matt never said that either. He pointed out the technical specifications and their effects in different disciplines, which means pick the appropriate tool for the job - and your budget. And guess what...? When we shoot there are plenty of FX's next to Walthers, next to Prophets and Priests and Avengers and Leviathans.... Nobody talking down to anybody my friend - you need to do a lot of soul-searching as regards your motives for this vid... But don't feel bad - you ever come down to Africa, you can drop into any range and come give us a shooting lesson...we will even buy you a few beers and listen listen attentively to your wisdoms...😉

Per the drill bits, I’m a machinist. Drill bits, even carbide drill bits absolutely flex. The longer they are the greater the chance of it. Applications have to be dialed in perfectly in order for this not to happen. I can easily see this happen in gun drill applications. Per the fx liners, I don’t recall him staying they r perfect. He stated they foul less, are fairly rough when new and polish as u shoot. Impart less damage on the projectile. And are less ammo fuzzy. I’d say that’s pretty true.

Are used to be like you I had tons of these guns and they are great with pallets but when you’re shooting slugs they are not even close as accurate as a poly or a Walther button rifled. My problem is I watched Matt Dobre tell all of us how perfect these barrels were how everyone that came off the line was perfect the same and how extremely accurate match grade you couldn’t get any better accuracy. I bought seven barrels seven slug barrels and at 200 yards they’re all over the place with slugs they’re great with pallets I spent over 15,000 on the stuff. You a Huben The guns have two regulators they were the first since 2016 they are extremely adjustable I’m going to do a video on adjusting them. If you get on Andy’s Airgun reviews on KZread he shoots a brand new 2021 all the pallets we’re going through the same whole. Please get up there and watch it you’re not gonna believe it and you don’t have to cut the gun and that is with an uncooked barrel. It will shoot slugs just as good I’m getting an inch and a quarter at 200 yards

I could not watch much over a minute of your vid because of your bias and the inaccuracies from the very beginning of the video. I know, from personal experience, that barrels can be drilled off center as I have had several. Yes, metal can flex and bend, when being drilled, and the bit will follow the softer part of the material in the barrel. An LW barrel can be defective just the same as any other manufacturer's barrels. Once again I know this from personal experience I got two, my first two, really ugly LW barrels in a row for my SK-19. I still need to send the second barrel installed on my gun back. To be completely honest I also got a defective FX liner once as well. You can say pretty much anything, that KZread will allow, on a KZread video and it surely does not need to be accurate or the truth. It's a terrible thing how so many people pretend they know what is going on then precede to take you down some dark and forbidden path towards the utter destruction of whatever you are werqing on. Some times what is being taught is downright dangerous. I think some of these people just want to be somebody so they do KZread videos hoping to make it happen. Makes me want to puke it does. As far as people advertising their wares we all know that most have a habit of over stating things a bit. In a perfect world what they say may be true to the letter but in the real world things don't always werq out that way.

Prof Brian Cox said our ability to store and transfer knowledge is what took us from caveman to spaceman. Any knowledge on this complex subject(PCPs) is valuable to all of us who are interested. I thoroughly enjoy learning all I can about the physics involved. Hooray for youtube videos like yours and others. 2 years ago I did not even know what a PCP was. I have since bought several FX rifles and have shot over 15000 rounds through them. I have also devoured youtube reviews on different air rifles. I have never seen any groups from any gun approaching a quarter MOA (1 MOA equals1,047 inches at 100 yds) at any distance. Especially not 10 shot groups. Not Huben, Daystate, RTI, or any others. Many have had Lothar Walter barrels. I don't claim these groups don't exist just have not seen any from hundreds of videos. The tendencies with groupings seem to be similar for all the rifles in terms of typically not being able to improve on approx 0,75 to 1 MOA including for FX. Most groups are worse. I also notice most have the odd flyer which is why I personally prefer 10 shot plus groups to see how many flyers over a larger shot count. Make no mistake FX also has flyers but I haven't seen it's worse than other rifles. . If you achieve quarter MOA consistently without rifle-induced flyers I cannot wait to find how you achieve it and I'm sure the airgun enthusiasts out there feel the same. As far as the points you have made about the flaws in the FX barrel design and manufacture clearly this is true. FX is aware of these hence the release of carbon tubes to stiffen the liners and the research in adding barrel stiffening sleeves. It makes sense that they will improve accuracy and reduce POI changes from barrel shifting which is one of my personal complaints with these rifles.. My best results with my unmodified rifles are 0,63 MOA with slugs and 0.6 MOA with pellets at 71 yds. The best of hundreds of 10 plus round groups The changing size inside the liners as the projectile moves down the barrel I cannot comment on in terms of both physical or the effect thereof. What I can say to your statement about introducing harmonics is that I think it can only affect the amplitude, not the actual frequency of the harmonic. Depending on various factors it could reduce and increase the amplitude as it disengages and reengages the barrel each time. This is obviously a complex subject and is beyond my knowledge. What attracted me to FX the most is the repeated claim from what appears to be reliable sources (eg, Teds Hoidover) that the barrel does not have to be repeatedly cleaned to maintain accuracy. My own experience is this is true, however, a change in projectile requires about 10 shots before the barrel "settles" with the leading and becomes consistent. As far as to hammer friction I think your claim of inconsistency needs elaboration. Friction per se is not the cause of inconsistency If the friction stays the same each time no inconsistency will be introduced. I cannot comment on whether it does or not but don't think it would be the same every time.. A good polish of the hammer and sleeve will probably reduce inconsistency to negligible amounts. I notice you were measuring a 2-year-old barrel. I believe the Superior barrel was subsequently released and these are more precise, with improved manufacturing equipment being used. I don't know if measurement will improve. At least one of the Huben reviews has shot strings and the speed variable is above 10fps. You claim that FX is a 100 yd barrel and not a 200yd barrel is in my opinion is an incorrect statement unless the rifle has introduced instability into the projectile that only starts beyond 100 meters. Unless affected by wind or some other cause of instability ( eg spin rate) 1 MOA at 100 is 1MOA at all distances once the projectile has left the barrel. If I'm wrong please explain, remember I'm kind of a novice I look forward to your further videos. Show us the consistent quarter MOA groups with no flyers and I will definitely be one of the first to make one happen for myself I believe hammerless is the future and most rifles will be built like that eventually including FX I would like to make the South African video guys aware of your channel. Things should get interesting. Let's hope you guys can bang the knowledge and facts around to the benefit of us all without any personal issues.

In .22LR it's very easy to have a 100 yard rifle but to have a consistent 200 yard rifle is another thing. Savage,CZ and Ruger all mass produce 100 yard rifles, if you want 200 yard .22LR your talking Voodoo and probably a few other $1000 plus rifles. Takes a lot to jump from 100 to 200 yards and be consistent.

Did you check your line or did you push a slug or pellet through it. The best thing you can do for yourself if you wanna shoot really tight groups just get a better barrel fit to your gun and when you do that I guarantee you will message me and tell me how much butter and how much more consistent your groups are. F ask products throw flyers with slugs all the time. That is because of Poor manufacturing process and the fact that the barrel needs a very tight choke. They have to be tight choked to overcome all the deviations that are caused to the slug from the inconsistent barrel diameter. Like me you saw a video showing a really tight tight group . So you bought the gun and now you’re into it and you’re kind of stuck. I would suggest getting yourself a gauntlet or an avenger and using my videos to polish and remove any inconsistencies which are much smaller and deviation matter of fact microscopic compared to an fx. And once you take that entry level gun as they call them so they can sell their expensive stuff and you tune it properly you’re going to see how much better accuracy can be achieved. The fact is their liner is a weak system and they hide it. Anybody who shoots for them on KZread is not allowed to show groups. At over 100 yards one out of four slugs will hit the target sometimes you’ll get lucky and two are 4 Will hit the target. That is simply not acceptable. These guys talk about ethical shooting. How are you going to shoot ethically if you yourself just said that you get tons of flyers. Go get yourself a Walther polygon barrel if you’re shooting slugs no choke barrel and you will be shooting a half inch group at 100 yards.

Barrel quality is paramount. I'm a huge fan of the .22cal CZs (12 groove, 45cm twist), they require the least amount of polishing (bores are close to flawless from the factory). I also agree that there are velocity sweet spots for a given barrel twist / barrel spec and projectile. It's been more apparent for me with smaller slugs (sectional densities and weight), like my gen6 Huben K1 with the 28.5gr Varmint Knockers. Everyone seemed to settle on 1050-1060, but that barrel is most accurate shooting them at 1100 (+/-5FPS). Love the K1, had to do some barrel work and have yet to install a custom mag that I got from Kelly & Dale Riggert's design, but tweaking the factory mag chambers allowed me to shoot sub-MOA with only ~2 sketchy mag chambers. My Taipan "Supervet" builds in .22 are ferocious, and they can push 40+ grain RBTs at just under 130FPE (but I chamber them for the 40gr Griffins and tune them for high transonic). I stopped using FX liners in my higher power builds, because they did not hold up for me over time. I have some very accurate FX liners in other rifles that have held up great though. Testing some custom LW poly barrels this week, and then I'm moving on to more R&D with .22 rimfire barrels. Shilen & TJs are on the menu 😎

Check out my video where I fixed the FX liner I had to make a lapping tool first I made it out of lead I poured it in the barrel the old-school way took that out sandcast a brass tool smoothing it out it was a lot of work then I pressed it through so the barrel was true all the way down there were no more inconsistencies. I started shooting it and it was still 2 1/2 inch group. So I started cutting the choke off 1/64 at a time it ended up being about 3/8 of it cut off and if you watch my group they’re all going and a half inch it was .4 so I fix the liner but the thing is it’s too much work. I couldn’t offer that service to people because of how many different twist rates they have I’d have to make a tool for every liner every six hours of work people are better off just going and getting a Lothar Walther poly barrel in machining at the fit the gun. Ozark Mountain air guns He put a Walther poly on his impact and at 100 yards of shoot and a quarter inch group it’s unbelievable

I’m gonna drill the choke off this gun tomorrow off my Edgun . Because a lot of people don’t have the option of taking a gun to a machine shop or doing up them selves like we do. Watch my P 12 shoot that hundred yard group at .413. I noticed when I shot a group that was 1.2 I put a slug down the barrel and there was about a quarter inch at the end of the barrel where the slug slid easier. And I got five kids here so it’s hard for me to get downstairs and get the barrel on the live so I drilled a half inch right. And I figure if it works I’ll just cut the remainder that’s hanging out off and then I’ll thread the end of the barrel. I take the gun out and I should .413 I am not even cutting off the old threads for the suppressor I’m leaving it right where it is. So then I tried the same thing on a Walther maxima Thor that I have 25 Cal. And the gun shoots a little over a half inch group at 100 yards now all they did was drill it finish it really nice. And there’s a kind of funny story with it about using stones I’m gonna shoot the video tomorrow I hope you watch it. I custom size the stone to go in the end of the barrel where I drilled. I was using another Stone to shape it it took like 20 minutes to get it to the shape and size. So I put it in the end of the barrel where I had it drilled and I barely touch the crown to clean it up right. I take the gun out and shoot it and it’s like a sex change group I’m like what the hell. So I figure I got a hit the crown more I’m going to look at the stone if I had that thing in there 20 seconds it was a lot it actually cut Stone down and dug into the rifling so I had to drill it back another quarter inch and make a tool to re-crown go inside that hole and re-crown. And once I did that spot on. All the stuff I’m doing is for guys who don’t have the option to go to a machine shop they can do this in their house. And all the barrel stuff I’m teaching these guys my father was a master gunsmith he taught me how to read these barrels and how to fix this rifling. No normallyYou make a laughing tool but how did these guys do that in their house when they’ve never done it before. So I design this other system that I use now that works great. If I was doing 35 Cal or 45 I would make a lapping tool.

I may just be lucky, but all of my FX barrel liners are without flaw and slugs (although tight) push through consistently. I own other high end air rifles with conventional barrels and for their purpose work very well. It’s the flexibility my FX Crown and Impact provide me that is most enjoyable. I can plink, target shoot, pest in close quarters, and hunt small to medium game over distance with confidence. Maybe you should stop buying broken shit and buy some good kit. Just saying. 😉

I’ve got three barrels and everyone of them has the flaws that’s why I don’t use them they’re junk. I do realize you’re doing that for Matthew Dubber and that’s OK. My button rifled barrels have proven their accuracy. It is a fact that button rifling is more accurate than pressing rifling from the outside. The tubes that those barrels are made of or not perfect so you have an inconsistency in your inner rifling diameter. I guess what I’m saying is you’re lying. And another issue is the choke get up there on KZread watch air Hunter Girard or Matt Dubber and watch their slugs spiraling. And the spiral comes from the very poorly manufactured barrels. Slugs cannot be shot accurately through a chalk that is a fact. I suggest you get yourself a Walther button rifle barrel or a poly barrel no choke If you are shooting slugs and you will see the accuracy. The best you’re going to get out of an FX liner is an inch and a half at 100 yards.

My LCS Air Arms SK-19 in .25 with a Polygonal barrel My .25 caliber Air Venturi/Nova Vista Avenger in .25 caliber. My Nova Vista Liberty in .22 caliber. My SK-19 hasn’t found a slug that it likes to date but FX .34 grain pellets drive tacks. The Nova Vista barrels including the Avenger have uncrowned barrels that shoot slugs and pellets awesomely. 75 yards with both the Liberty and The Avenger hold nickel size groups per magazine. The SKs poly barrel send pigeons to the afterlife well past 100 yards and then some. JSB .34 grain in the SK shotgun pattern compared to the FX .34 grain pellets however. They are NOT the same by any means in my barrel. Thanks for this video. Very eye opening. Thank you so much.

It seems you may need to spend some more time in the machine shop. Drill bits do have some “give” and as another viewer commented drill drifting is also another issue to contend with. This is true even when using large drills. It is also possible for the material bow when hogging out the initial hole. This can be caused by the relationship between tool feed pressure and a dull drill. It doesn’t matter if it’s a modern carbide insert drill or a standard drill, eventually the cutting edge does deteriorate. Although for production purposes most efficient manufacturing processes use a non-traditional drill with carbide inserts to effectively move a lot of material when boring the initial hole. I won’t even get into your method measuring the ID of the barrels with the $10 Harbor freight calipers (not a mic). Bottom line is there’s a certain way to call somebody out that has established a reputation for them self. In any industry the unspoken understanding is the same. This was not the way to do it. Most viewers watching both sides of this this are disappointed in both of you. Because this is petty.

Poor interpretation of the evidence: If the barrel blank is not straight before it is drilled, the hole may be straight, but it will not be in the center of the blank. Hence, barrel blanks are checked for straightness before drilling and reaming; and after rifling. Then the blank is turned down using the actual bore line as the center. How do you measure groove diameter on a five groove barrel, using a caliper? FX barrels are made that way to keep cost down. If they shoot well, they are "perfect". The fact that they need a choke to shoot well, could be an indication of diametral anomalies down the tube - like so many airgun barrels. I agree that FX liners are too thin to be stiff. They need help. The least FX could do is put in a dozen support O-rings, instead of 3. Anyway, the latest FX trend is towards carbon fiber sleeves that are snug to the straw liner.

What a hit piece! I watched just to see if you would set yourself up for a lawsuit. I'm a fan of opposing views and explanation but uncalled for insults makes me and your video poorer for the effort. It was time I'll never get back. There's this little thing called the free market. If an air rifle has a market value over $2000 and the factory can't keep up with orders.....enough said.

He says it all with conviction, I'll give him that! I have a dreamline and a diana outlaw, the outlaw shoots slugs terrible while the fx shoots them pretty good. Neither one will group pellets at 100yds like the RWS 54 airking, the recoiless springer I have. I've spent a lifetime shooting NRA rifle silhouette, NBRSA benchrest and now NRL22, my air rifles have always been practice guns for real gun competitions. Unless you can't legally own real firearms not sure what the point of a 30 caliber airgun is especially if it's loud, thinking a 308 might be a better choice.

Hi guys I see both sides , I think it would be wise fir fx to go down the solid barrel route , as a liner then barrel tensioner then a harmonic tuner at the front then a barrel tensioner at the rear …. Would a solid barrel sort this out ???? I’ve seen a LW barrel on a fx produce better groups my self . I’m not pro LW as I have 4 CZ guns and you simply can’t beat them !! All the best 😎
