    1. Mods Update 2/24: mods really are soon--we are talking a few days with all likelihood (but people volunteering their time got to put RL first ofc). as anyone who has been around Tide for a while knows just about every patch breaks a big chunk of mods, and the bigger the patch the more that are broken. The guys are fixing everything up so when it goes out it all...you know...works? We are reallyreally close. 2. I really really genuinely enjoy running power sword aggressively. I know a lot of you feel like it is boring--I wonder if it is one of those cases where it is interesting to play because of the little nuances but from a viewing perspective it looks samey? IDK. Imma keep playing it cuz its fine . Hope you guys enjoy the run as much as we did.

it looks samey because you're not using your active skill and gun for the most part, but the power sword feels great.

I'm amazed how you can play in that darkness. Do you use a brighter screen and just replay this with normal settings? I can barely make scab gunners out when they're not shooting.

I'm glad they added such a strong melee specialist, at first I thought It would be the zealot, but in hindsight I now realize that it's just a support class designed to give the veteran more toughness damage reduction/regen etc.

Ah an HP over elite mod to make this game even easier. Glad to see the community needs to use these handicaps

I would argue (without resorting to calling hours) that an HP bar/damage numbers mod is more QOL than a handicap. Sure, I won't deny that occasionally you'll see "Oh, that crusher is 1 hit from death whilst the other is 3-4 hits, let me focus him first" coming up and distracting from vanilla gameplay without the mods, but consider a few things: 1. These mods are dev sanctioned. Just like in Vermintide 2, the developers at FatShark have elected to allow these mods in the game. If they didn't, the anticheat would catch you immediately. 2. Players of 'tide games (and all co-op, no HP bar shooters such as L4D2) get an idea for breakpoints and HTK over time. HP bars speeds up the recognition of "Okay, a power sword headshot does this much, so 2 charged headshots kills this enemy whereas 1 headshot 1 bodyshot can't" because you can see they are full health and know your teammates didn't intervene. If you've played any of the 'tide games, you've surely gotten a 'feel' for when an enemy is about to die, or when they're not so close; an intuition that tells you "Just 1 headshot and he's out of the picture." HP bars give the impression of not growing this talent, but I promise you it's still working in the background and if j_sat were to turn them off, he'd be just as effective. 3. Even if it was a handicap (which I firmly believe it is not a handicap as it doesn't make the player character or their teammates any stronger), this is an un-ranked, co-operative game. If you're playing difficulty 5 runs on Darktide, you're not going to notice if a teammate is running HP bars, just as you won't see if they've moved their UI around, or disabled bothersome on-screen effects. Part of the balance of the game is the Psyker not being able to hear at high Peril due to the screeching sounds, but anyone can attest to how obnoxious that sound ends up being past the first few hours of play once the novelty wears off, so nobody is hollering that "People who turn that sound down/off are cheaitng!" because everyone understands that it's annoying. 4. I'm ignoring your disingenuous argument (or lack thereof) to make this post in a genuine attempt to inform people that NOT EVERY GAME HAS TO BE HARD. Sure, j_sat has played solo VT for years and is a power-house at the game, but he's also a man with a job and real life things to attend to. Many people are in his situation, although not exactly the same, and thus deserve to be cut some slack. If he wants to play the game with some tweaks, or on an easier difficulty than normal, let him. If he plays on high FOV because he has a higher framerate than other people because of his computer specs, he's not cheating, even though he's afforded an option some other players may not be. If he wants to play on difficulty 1 with meta weapons, that's also fine. If j_sat comes to this comment and says "No, it's absolutely a handicap." that's fine, I still won't think that it is. He's not warping the game's difficulty by flying around, using godmode, infinite ammo, or some other cheat engine type of behaviour that plainly makes other players inferior or useless. If you encounter him, or anyone else in your game using mods such as HP bars, I promise you that you will still lose, still win, and most importantly: won't ever notice that they're using a mod. I figure since you're leaving a comment this toxic on a wholesome video that you won't be open to this dialogue, and that's okay. I just hope that anyone else sharing in this sentiment gives my comment (and j_sat, and the rest of the hard-working mod community) a chance. Apologies for any errors in this comment.

@@buttsgalore8390 This mod is directly giving you information you should not and would not have. 1. I hope the devs at fatshark see this and find a way to get rid of said mod. Im ok with mods in game but this one is way to much. Your getting a massive edge over players that dont have it. 2. Sure idea for break points is good but this is giving you more then that, its giving you the ability to focus anything u want down before u should know its about to die. 3. Ill absolutely notice when i see a zealot flamer burning enemies right as he should with his chastie ability because he KNOWS that he has enough stacks before he should to use it. 4. This whole comment i dont understand. Sure u can use mods that make the game easier. But this mod breaks the game entirely and makes even true duo damnation (the only hard content left) a joke.

@@Johnny1994100 I really don't see how you can compare seeing the HP bars of an enemy equivalent to having literal godmode, noclip, etc. This was the crux of my argument, and while it's fine if the rest of my points evade you, this one point is too crucial to ignore. Does it give you an advantage? Let's say "Yes." to that question for the sake of argument, although I disagree with the assessment as I've said before, it still won't be game changing. To paraphrase myself, you'll still win, and lose, regardless of if you're using it. To say that it "breaks the game entirely" and makes "damnation.. a joke" is, well, comical at best and insulting at worst. You're making it sound like you can completely dodge the mechanics of the game, when it doesn't affect your player character abilities (meaning: damage, health, mobility, talents, ult, etc) at all. j_sat is a strong enough player to win true duos without HP bars. He's done it in the past, he'll do it more in the future. Your point is weak and holds no water as you can plainly see he doesn't treat his duos with mods as easier than ones without. Edit: Also, the FatShark devs literally know about this mod. They know about all of them as far as I know, as they're sanctioning their usage according to the mod authors themselves. Unless by "I hope the devs at fatshark see this" you mean to say the developers should see your comment that provides no argument as to why it's actually game breaking.

@@buttsgalore8390 I think game breaking is a bit of an exaggeration. Anyone with a little common sense knows it's not comparable to godmode cheats. However, I think it's hard to deny that players using it gain an advantage. It reminds me of HP flinch value mods that people would use on Monster Hunter games. When you see something is about to die, or cause a flinch, it means you have the information to make plays you otherwise wouldn't to gain an advantage in the fight. That's how I see the mod at least. Pair it with a scoreboard and people will probably use it to gain an advantage there too by focusing what's low HP. The other mods Jsat talked about in his video looked great. I'm also not ripping on Jsat, just that one HP mod in particular. I think the game would be better without it, but I also accept my opinion won't matter much or make a difference. I like the limited information players are supposed to have in this game on whether a priority target is about to die or not.
