Travis Victor Alexander (July 28, 1977 - June 4, 2008) was an American salesman who was murdered by his ex-girlfriend, Jodi Ann Arias (born July 9, 1980), in his house in Mesa, Arizona. Arias was convicted of first-degree murder on May 8, 2013, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on April 13, 2015.
At the time of the murder, Alexander sustained 27 to 29 knife wounds and a gunshot to the head. Arias testified that she killed him in self-defense, but she was convicted by the jury. The murder and trial received widespread media attention in the United States.
Arias was a carefree aspiring photographer from Palm Desert, California when she met Alexander, a motivational speaker, salesman, and devout Mormon from Mesa, Arizona. The pair had met at a company convention in Las Vegas in September 2006. At the time, Arias was looking for opportunities in network marketing. The pair seemed to have hit it off and started a long-distance relationship for a few months. Friends of Alexander said the pair were smitten with each other and had “a potent chemistry.” Alexander had been deeply involved in his faith and Arias was not Mormon. Unbeknownst to friends, the two were having premarital sex, going against one of the most important principles of the Mormon faith. Friends said he felt guilty about their relationship and that it began weighing on him. Soon after friends told ABC News that they were concerned when their relationship became volatile. One friend said that Arias showed “obsessive” signs early-on.
After five months together, they broke up. Despite their break-up, Arias moved to Mesa, to be closer to Alexander, but friends told ABC they were baffled. They said she’d show up to his house because she knew the code, without him knowing. At one point, Alexander revealed to friends that Arias had snuck into his house through a doggy door, according to Brian Skoloff, co-author of ”Killer Girlfriend: The Jodi Arias Story." Despite his complaints, one friend said “he would be angry and other times jump into bed with her.”
During the same time this was happening, Alexander began dating another woman. Soon after, Alexander had his car tires slashed and the new women would get random knocks on her door with no one being there. Friends later would learn that while Alexander was dating his new love interest he was allegedly still communicating with Arias and engaging in intimate behavior over texts and phone. And, in one episode they were in the midst of a fight, recalled a friend.
Alexander had plans to attend a company retreat in Mexico with a Mormon woman he was pursuing. Alexander never got to Mexico. Five days later, on June 9, 2008, friends found him in his Mesa, Arizona home. His throat had been cut ear-to-ear and he had been shot and stabbed 27 times, ABC reported.
Arias's accounts of her whereabouts on the day Alexander was killed varied, including that she was not in Mesa the day the murder happened, that she and Alexander were attacked during a home invasion at his home, which led to his murder, and that she had been a victim of domestic violence and killed Alexander in self-defense, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
In 2013, Arias was convicted of first-degree murder and is serving life in prison without parole in the death of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.

One of the creepiest things about Jodi Arias is her doing a hand stand in the interigation room. She was so narcissistic and arrogant, she really thought she was smarter than anyone and would never get caught. She is one of the coldest most heartless people I've heard of. Peace to Travis's family and friends. No one should die that way.

I think she was obviously crazy to the point of a disassociation with reality. I just can't see a sane person doing handstands in an interrogation room when their future is on the line.

Aside from the gruesome crime scene photos... The video of her standing on her head in the interrogation room, and the stories of her gaining access to the inside of his house by crawling through the doggy door...Something is seriously wrong with this chick... Thanks for sharing!

I’m an attorney in Phoenix and knew all of the attorneys in that case fairly well (other than Kirk Nurmi, Arias’ primary defense attorney). I remember in the early days of the trial, there was a live feed of the trial that I’d pop on my computer when I had free time. One day, someone leaked nude photos of Jodi on that feed that absolutely should NOT have been released. The documents related to the case, including crime scene photos, are ostensibly public records, so eventually, they’ll pretty much all turn up after the appeals process has run its course. I remember the courthouse being an absolute ZOO on the day the verdict was announced; Jodi really thought she was going to be the next Casey Anthony and get acquitted; Casey got lucky with over-confident prosecutors and an incredibly stupid jury. VERY nice video Scott! We should collab on a video if you make it back out to Arizona again!

Hi Scott, I’m just having a moment watching your videos. Just want you to know that your work is really important to me. I never planned on watching your content, it was my love of all things Kurt Cobain that brought me here. Before i knew it i was watching all your visits to famous celebrity haunts and gravesites and it’s fascinating. I’m not well right now as my kidneys have failed me and i had a big realisation of my own mortality. It’s such a wonder to me how these young people that we all gaze upon are taken and then 6 feet under our feet for eternity. It’s very very sad, kinda creepy and kinda reassuring all at the same time. I think you’re doing great work showing these places and helping people feel connected to the ones we miss so dearly. Glad I subscribed to your channel 😊

I don't know what money you think she makes or made but if it had anything to do with this murder, it's illegal now and has been for quite a long while. Convicted murderers can not profit in any way financially off of the book, story movie etc about the victims they killed. That law was passed to prevent that because it is/was absolutely disgusting and just WRONG for killers to make money by writing a book or because it was depicted in a made for tv movie that would make the killer money about the very person they killed. It used to be pretty prevalent. I want to say it was after or had something to do with Charles Manson and his crew since all those books and movies about the crime came out. Not for sure tho on that. ETA: I just read your comment again and see that you were saying she makes money in jail for her artwork. So I apologize if I came across harsh. Happy New Year!

You do know she was STALKING him right? Stalkers do have the ability to be very dangerous. .she slashed his tires She snuck into his house .. she harassed girls he was dating. And she had audio proof of sex that she could've used to black mail him. You do need to tread very carefully with people like this. .. when someone is unhinged as she is and does not stop her pursuit ... He may have gotten to a place where to the only answer was to appease her to keep her from doing any more damage. He did file charges for his tires being slashed .he just did not name her ( of course he shouldve. Maybe if he pressed charges against her maybe things would r been different ) should be have given In and slept with her? No. All I can say is his is a guy. Guys dont always think rationally when a chick is making herself available to mess around. Lol.i truly think Travis just got scared he knew he was in over his head. He was afraid of her. Even told friends if he ends up dead to not be surprised Whatever happened between them at the end of may was VERY bad . It was the last straw for him.whatecee he said to her was enough to push her to steal her grandfather's gun and plan his murder.. Travis is a VICTIM of her ...do NOT bash him. For all those who say he led her on he didnt have to sleep with her. Ask yourself where was her dignity and self esteem? She was down for it. .they were both wrong. But he didn't have to die! A side note . I've seen the photos too. Those images NEVER leave you What happened to him was just HORRIBLE.

Totally agree. If you break up with someone, the ties should be completely cut. Don’t string your ex along after a break up. Not saying this is the reason but why would you even subject your own self to emotional stress by keeping your ex around anyway???? If you left or they left, it’s for a reason. Accept it and move on. Stringing someone along after a break up is not healthy for either party & I myself had to learn that the hard way. You can see the final text messages from Travis here. Travis, in my opinion, lead her on: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nXqZzNl-qrmTk6g.html

Great video, Scott. I live in Mesa; about 6 miles from that house and I have been by there many times. The house was sold shortly after the murder, after a major renovation of the upstairs area and at a price well below market value. The new owners were aware of the history and didn't have a problem living there, even with what happened. The neighbors have always been very annoyed at the looky-loos. Jodi actually rented a home in the area; about halfway between that one and my house. Too bad you didn't know about it; you could have had another location to shoot.
