This is very puzzling to me. Are people really not aware that the LP gene originated in Central Asia and predates the domestication of the horse? It's found in dozens of different breeds! The Appaloosa is just the most numerous one found in North America.

Let me laugh about it! hahaha! Appaloosas are genetically Arab. Same horses the Otaman empire brought to Europe while they dominated part of that continent and most of them were found in Spain. the Spaniards came to America and brought with them the Arab Horse. Thanks to them Colonization was much easier for the newcomers, traveling long distances and enduring the harshness of the landscape. There were no horses in the Americas prior to the arrival of the Conquistadores. and nobody came from Asia riding a horse across the north pole. But there is a similarity with the case of Tulips in the 1800s in Holland. There was an appaloosa like kind of tulip that was highly appreciated and priced. Red with white spots all over. So expensive it was, that even debt was paid with it. Later they learn that that was not natural. it was a fungus that created those spots in tulips and also was discovered that the tulips were actually sick. a fungicide was applied and the spots on the tulips disappeared forever. is my belief that the same is happening with the horses. lots of medication immunization shots and so on are taking away what nature created out of a disease. Also is said that Native Americans were credited with breading the Appaloosa Horse but let's take a look and understand that they breaded horses with the same characteristics. They didn't create the Appaloosas. We can go to the bible and read The case of Jacod and his father in law Jethro. Jethro trying to cheat on Jacob demanded that all the white lambs should be his and the spotted ones should become Jacobs's reward for his work. (which were really only a few). God came to Jacob and told him to cut some branches of some bushes growing nearby. place them in the water upstream and then make the sheep drink downstream and walla! most of the sheep born afterward where spotted. So my opinion is, get to the lab and investigate there

the history of appaloosa goes back to much earlier times than of your arab ancestors history

Arabs are a cross breed.......meaning man made. Appaloosas have EVOLVED over 25,000 years. You obviously haven't seen the evidence in the Peche Merle caves in France and read the scientific report.

you did not read the instructions properly. The guy knew the rules of Mendel already as when he put the debarked sticks in front of the water the ewes pushed against them, thus transferring the zap onto the fleece creating a "barcode" whilst he had them covered by the spotted ram as the text explains further down in the text. This allowed him to sort the ewes before lambing, predicting the colour of the lambs. He was ingenious as he did not have to put a wattle on the ram and the markings as collecting the dust would have been less conspicuous. In addition, to put the the bark in the water resembles the fist documented practice of mineral supplementation to pregnant sheep to support better embryo development. No wonder the guy became rich from his sheep breeding as those sheep would have given rise to stronger lambs. interestingly the genetics seem to suggest her hunch to be right
