Trudeau, Poilievre clash over Tory campaign manager’s connection to Loblaws

During question period, faced with a question over soaring vehicle thefts, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau switched the focus to Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s campaign manager, Jenni Byrne, and her alleged ties to Loblaws.
“If Canadians are going to believe this leader of the opposition, he needs to come clean with who is funding his organization,” he said.
In response, Poilievre said Trudeau was “desperate” and listed several people in Trudeau’s orbit, including his marketing director Max Valiquette, who he said had ties to the grocery giant.
Poilievre also repeated his accusation that carbon pricing has contributed to food inflation - a claim which Trudeau said there is no evidence to support.

@@jumbome7420 Nah, Canada was far worse under Conservatives. The last Conservative gov, in which Poilievre was a cabinet minister, had the worst economic & jobs creation performance of any CDN gov since WW2. They inherited a $12+ billion surplus and turned it into a deficit in less than 2 yrs (before the recession hit.) During that terrible gov - a total of 17 Conservatives ran afoul of the law. The Conservative government was fined for breaking election laws. It was caught misleading parliament, gagging civil servants, subverting parliamentary committees, muzzling scientists, harassing the Supreme Court, gagging diplomats, lying to the public, concealing evidence of potential crime, spying on opponents, *bullying & smearing disabled veterans*, and more. The Conservative PM (who endorsed Poilievre for leader) was even held in contempt of parliament - a first for Canada and the Commonwealth.

She said the chain is receiving federal support because “they can get the most significant emissions reductions” through this program - the equivalent of taking 50,000 cars off the road each year. “Let’s be clear, this project actually is going to make a difference,” McKenna said as she left the Liberal cabinet meeting Tuesday. “It’s really unfortunate that you have the leaders of the opposition politicizing serious climate action across the board.”

Take a look at the Conservative's stance Ukraine. They claim they're for Ukraine, yet they've voted AGAINST helping Ukraine multiple times. The Conservatives claim they're for making housing prices go down when they are the ones, while Pierre Poilievre was housing minister by the way, who sold off 800,000 affordable homes.
