    Cannings on the thumbnail (a long gone Leyland firm and then OMG at 0:47 you’ve got Ian Robinson’s T45 I was saying about on another video last week, he’s had a remake of a Cannings trailer (tautliner) You’re hard work is impeccable 🥰🥰

    I remember Don Bush and his beast. 4.09 You couldn't drop the trailer in a conventional way because a drive shaft ran from the tractor unit to the trailer bogies so it was an all-wheel-drive plus the trailer wheels steered, I think the rig was i bit heavy, I think we were on 38 tons in those days. I think Uni Mog made something on the same lines for the waterboard to sometimes run off-road to their pumping stations. Thanks for the memories.

    Basic but great vehicles, always wondered what happened to the soft top, saw it in truck mag in 80s 🇬🇧

    Ειχαμε δυο τριαξωνικα στην Κυπρο του 1987. Το ενα με μηχανη Cummins NTE 320, και το αλλο με μηχανη Rolls Royce 340 li. Η Cummins ηταν πολυ πιο γρηγορη και πιο οικονομικη στα καυσιμα. Και τα δυο φορουσαν gearbox Eaton spicer split 5+5. Η Cummins δεν ειχε απολυτως κανενα πρόβλημα, ενω η Rolls Royce ειχε παρα πολλα. Ειχαν προβλημα με το σύστημα αναρτησης, κλωτσουσαν σαν μουλαρια. Επισης ειχαν πρόβλημα με τα final drive τα οποια ειχαν διαρροη λαδιου, και οταν αναπτυσες ταχυτητα σφυρουσαν σαν σειρηνα. Οι πορτες της καμπινας ειχαν σοβαρο πρόβλημα με το ανοιγμα, και οι ενδειξεις στο ταμπλο στραβωναν. Η μπροστινη μασκα δεν κουμπωνε καλα και ανοιγε απο μονη της. Το chasis και το υδραυλικο τιμονι ηταν πολυ καλα.

    My old man had one mid eighties. A reg 290 Cummins high speed diff no limiter would go off the clock quicker than iveco. Proper lorry.

    Oh the days of pulling fuses 😂🤣 80 mph loaded. Yeah I know I don't know how I kept my licence before anyone cuts in 😂🤣 Knew a few drivers that ended up in jail for 3 months.. It was the way it was then.

    Still not a real Leyland with some other engine, while DAF used a much improved Leyland in theirs.

    They counted on AEC to power their their flagship truck until they relied on Cummins four years later. The good old TL 12 for a decade 1973 -1983. Meanwhile DAF made their own 0680 successful in their trucks for far longer.

    More advanced trucks took over. To little to late for Leyland.
