Hello. It's nice to see these old trucks again. So merry Christmas.
Great video, I started driving hgv's 43 years ago and remember all these motors and driven most of them.
Yet another fantastic collection of trucks 👍
My father now 76 had a DAF 2800 that took him to Saudi and back in the early 70’s. He be away for six weeks at a time, he eventually worked for Ashtrans for years doing the regular middle east trips! He had a great big aircon unit on the roof and no power steering back then!
I am now 75 years old and I have driven most of these in the past
The Leyland MARATHON, the last lorry built at AEC Windmill Lane Southall Middlesex. I can remember also whilst serving my apprenticeship during the early 1970s seeing the AEC MANDATOR V8 going out with the experimental department with huge 4 ton weights bolted on to simulate load. The V8 was still in the teething stage and needed the time (which Leyland denied) to rectify 😇
Massive Memories of a special time and place of as a kid . Too much at this time to post as quite emotional. Ty for providing this 💪 . Dave Uk 🏴

Thanks you for the kind words
Remember the old Leyland trucks, used to have to leave my Octopus running, cos you could never start it again!
Thats when there were Drivers and not todays Steerers. Used to love night outing with me old fella in the 60,s n 70,s no nightheaters in them trucks
Cold in winter hot in summer. How eny one did trans conti work in some of those trucks back in the day is beyond me. Bad enough tramping in the UK.
Just imagine loading that TK @ 2:49
Good to see Fridged Freight from Diss Norfolk @7.17 , later became Fridge Freight. The lorries were Green trailers, yellow writing, and the unit was yellow. Sadly they are no more., but MRCT took their place.
Jesus what is that pink 8 wheel mess @9:53 ? Truly tragic that must have been laughed at wherever it went.
I have a couple of images to upload of our fleet of ERF’s How do I do this please?

Hi Robin you can send them to my email address at truckingchristopher03@gmail.com look forward to seeing them and putting them in a video thanks Christopher
Fyi. Here in England we do not have 'trucks' That would be in America. However, what we do have are "LORRIES" As a lorry driver of many years this is the correct name used for our HGV vehicles. Or as an alternative we sometimes called them "WAGONS" But never trucks. Get it right.
