Bill is a Riff Lord for sure, many riffs come from him and Brann likes to hum riffs to bill like “Blood and Thunder” was straight from Brann’s brain, to Bills guitar, Bill is the fucking backbone, I LOVE Brents solo’s but I’d like to hear a few from Bill myself (and some singing)

  • @puppetmaster8551

@@sinisterminister9920 seems Bill just doesn’t really care for solos that much so that’s why Brent does almost all of them, he’s clearly capable of writing some Badass solos because he’s an incredibly good guitarist but I think he just like churn out riffs and jammin. Kinda the same with singing too, absolute killer vocals but he just doesn’t like to sing that much, just prefers to play mainly. Kind of a bummer because we’re probably missing out on some awesome solos and riffs but it’s whatever, Bill is still the fuckin man

1 of the biggest reasons I love this band so much is because I literally feel like they are my homies😂😂 seen so many vids and doc’s on them since 2006 When I first heard them on HEADBANGERS BALL that’s right... that long ago, but they are so funny and REAL idk just feels like I’ve known them forever, and you know... one could say that they are Proggy but tbh they do it so well. So many “proggy” band to me are just corny, like Dream Theater is nice and all but, I hate all the abstract synth shit they put in their songs that don’t make sense, and a lot of bands do that. Mastodon reminds me of Rush... like they have synths and pads they put in their music but it ALWAYS just works and works for the song... that’s doing it RIGHT and man they are just killer album after album... so overlooked and underrated but that’s okay... Ima fan 4 life guys

That was a damn good interview. And Mastodon are fun humble dudes except for B. Hinds.

Brent is fun too and isn’t like some super cocky guy, he can be a dickhead sometimes compared to the other guys tho. He’s the definite wildcard of the band. I’ve seen countless people talk about meeting him and how he was really nice and friendly to them which is good to see, he is a little crazy tho lol

This interviewer reminds me of Jordan Schlansky from Conan. I mean, he acts nothing like him, but he could play his body-double.

I just discovered Mastodon, I thought rock was dead. I was so-very wrong. I find most of the metal genre, with the comical kookie monster vocal and look I’m cool, I’m downtuned sludge very boring . These guys are musical and muscular what a concept .

One of the best bands in the planet and they just released another great and unique album. Their sound changes with every album but it always sounds good and still sounds uniquely like mastodon.

weedlife13 Bill is a more typical metal riff writer. Brent is a chicken picken wizard and his riffs are cool and unique and what make mastodon mastodon.

  • @Danimal300zx

The interviewer annoys me. As soon as he's done asking a question he stops looking at them when they start to answer, even though they are looking right at him when answering the question. VERY disrespectful. It's as though the interviewer couldn't care less about their answers, because he doesn't even offer them the courteousy of looking at them when they answer his questions. Pissed me off.

Well, maybe... with right techique you can scream as much as as long you want. But was not my point. I just didnt like the way they like dismiss screaming and almost make it sound just something "lesser", it really should not be that way. And I dont mean I want them to start using deathmetal growls or anything like that. I'm happy with the fact how they are doing things and there is nothing wrong in that, but I just didnt like that almost condescending way they said that thing. Thats all :D

I get it. Singing vocals sells more records than harsh vocals, and 99% of the population would rather hear clean vocals than harsh. Just look at who won the metal grammy: Ghost. I like harsh vocals but I also understand how the music business works.
