Troy-Bilt Super Bronco 50 XP Riding Mower - How It Performs After 3 Seasons of Mowing

In this video I describe how I have had to maintain my Troy-Bilt Super Bronco 50-in riding lawn mower over 3 years of use. This is been a very dependable and excellent performing mowing machine. I bought it from Lowe's 3 years ago and have had to do minimal maintenance apart from switching out the battery and changing the oil. Many thanks to a local small engine repair company who has taken care of other minimal issues.

Thanks for the great video and tour of your property. I really enjoyed the ride. I've had two Troy Bilts and they have performed wonderfully. No complaints. Your property is absolutely beautiful and you have an award winning view of the mountains and valleys.

I have the same mower. I got about 209 hours on mine. I own 3 acres and mow about half of it. I had a murray garden tractor for 12 years (46" cut 22hp 5spd) that I absolutely wore out. I almost went zero turn, but stayed old school, because my yard not so level. My wife bought me this Troy Bilt, and just like you said, it is a hoss! It cut about an hour out of my mowing time. There is only 1 tree that I cannot turn completely around without backing up. Only problems; 1 spindle got dry of grease, so I replaced all 3 this spring, with greasable spindles. Belt got a bad spot in it, so I also replaced it this spring, along with the blades. I will probably have to replace front tires next season. Other than that, absolutely no problems. Best $1900 I've spent in a long time. I feel it mows better, the lower it is. I mow at 2. The original battery is still strong, even after sitting outside, covered up all winter! Love my Troy Bilt!

If this Trot-Bilt was painted yellow you'd have a ZT1 Enduro 50 Cub Cadet. They are identical from front to back and all parts are interchangeable.

i have the same mower bought in 2014 i liked it while it ran right but ive had to open the motor twice on it already once cause the valve covers were both leaking. 3 out of the 4 bolts broke off so i had to pull the heads and redrill them than last year the passenger side headgasket went. have replaced both belts multiple times. axel seals twice and refill the hydrostatic fluid. while i really like the mower i havent had a great experience. all this happened with less then 200 hours.

Great review and like it a lot.Need a bigger mower about this size for my acre on a hill also. One thing I do every time on my riding mower is spray belt dressing on the Belts that I can reach.Really helps extend the life and have not replaced a Belt in over 5 years on my riding mower. For that seat you might want to look at the foam cushions Amazon sells most have the bottom surface with a non slip pad on them.Extra cushion and also wont slip around on you. Thanks again for the review!

I just found this video...I was on another one of your videos after watching your initial one of the Delivery of your TroyBilt... This second video was perfect. I'm a big man too and looking to get one of these bad boys for an acre of land in Flagstaff Az! mine is pretty flat but kind of chunky right now...need some power. Thanks for the videos. Love your voice BTW...reminds me of Huell Howser...a great Tennessean who came out to California and did the "California Gold" TV Show on the local channels. one of my favorites!

We just replaced our 20 year old John Deere with this same Troy Bilt Super Bronco - this beast moves fast and performs with determination. We have a similar property so, like you, we use a smaller tractor for the hilly parts.

I love your property. Can’t believe that you can mow that space so quickly. I can barely get a .5 acre in under 40 minutes. Ryobi already makes a battery-powered zero turn. Worth a look if you are in the market.

I recommend that you change the transmission fluid so that way it will last an extra few years also think about investing in a battery maintainer (battery float charger) for the battery to last longer as well.

Ryobi makes a 100ah zero turn if your looking at electric. Am currently considering it supposed can do 2 acres and/or 2 hours of mowing. It's not lithium ion though, just generic sla batteries

The frame area where the seat is mounted has cracked right along the raised area on the frame. Have you had any issue with this? I am 280lbs and our four acres is extremely rough. We have 425 hrs after 5 years of use on our Super Bronco XP 50”.
