Trout Slayer Performance Test - June 2024 (Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Bass)
Спорт
This Trout Slayer (by Leland Lures, makers of Crappie Magnet and Trout Magnet) Performance Test was performed in Henry County, MO at an impounded body of water (no current). It is the second part of a previously released video titled Slip Bobbers for June Bass and Panfish.
Having seen a couple of videos recently on YT about the Trout Slayer, and discovering that they were produced by the same folks (Leland Brothers) who make Crappie and Trout Magnets, I was curious about these tiny crawfish. So I ordered the TS Kit on Amazon and tried them out for the first time. The results were excellent.
These tiny 1.5 inch micro craws are very realistic. As far as I know, they only come in five colors - but the right colors. The two colors used in today's test were Huckleberry and Watermelon.
The plastisol is tough, ala Crappie Magnets, but not indestructible. Not to worry, the lures are very affordable and replacement packs (4 bodies) also come with two sharp, size 6 jig heads.
Conclusion: Excellent micro finesse lures; a great addition to the family of tiny lures that catch LOTS of fish. Thumbs UP!
Rudie and Leila have a nice cameo for their fans.
Thankfully, Sparky does not appear in the video hahaha, but an attempt was made to cheer him up.
Enjoy the Show!

@brianlocal3 thanks a lot Brian, much appreciated. I got to the trout slayer game a little late but was definitely impressed by their performance. I am already imagining a normal spring with no drought or flooding and I bet these little craws will be panfish champions. Have a great week, Don
What a good video, excellent fishing, congratulations. greetings, a big hug, blessings.

Thanks, Virgillio. I really enjoyed using a new (for me) tiny lure and having some success. I think the slayers are very realistic fish catchers for panfish and everything else. Best wishes, Don
What a show today with the trout slayers!! Lots of nice bluegill, greenies and of course bass! These tiny crawdads really catch fish! Fun fishing Don❤!!

Thanks, Sis! I ran across a YT video on these slayers and wondered about them because there wasn't much of a description. As a fan of Crappie Magnets. I checked into them and ordered the kit. They are seriously Cutsey Wootsey little craws and are excellent micro finesse fish catchers. There's a lot of places I'd like to try them out in the future...as long as they don't pinch Rudie's nose hahaha. Welcome to July! Xxxooo RTR Don

@@rickbrown7067 thank you for the nice compliment on our Reaper Team fishing shows! Don and I had such fun bringing everyone along on our sibling trips and glad you enjoyed watching. It’s been a challenge to get back together as we don’t live in the same city anymore. We hope to get back on the water again so be sure to stay tuned 😊. Doing well, thank you, Lorraine. RTR Don and Lorraine❣️
I use those myself and they work well. Thanks for sharing those with all of us. Happy 4th Don.

Thanks, Gary. I think they are a great addition to the toolbox for anyone who enjoys the micro finesse scene. I can see how they would work well in streams with running water... unfortunately i dont know of any streams like that hereabouts. But since fish in impoundments love craws too, I'll be carrying my Kit! Happy 4th to you, too. Don
trout slayer did the trick but it seems you catch em no matter what you throw at them Don 😎✌

Thanks, Bill. I really enjoyed using the tiny lures. And, yes, agree that the secret is to have an aquarium hahaha where there's lots of fish to be caught. The later we get into summer the more I will probably wilt in the sun, but hopefully some decent days for fishing will occur. All the best, Don
Next stop, Everharts Outdoors for some of these Slayers. Don, you caught some very nice bluegill on this bait. Enjoyed the video.

Thanks, Jack. Everharts has a good selection of lures (I googled them because I didn't know Clinton had a sporting goods store). Make sense since you are so close to Truman. Hope you have a great 4th of July! Don
Been fishing these for years, they catch just about anything that’s swims.

Thanks, Big Al. I've been a big fan of micro finesse lures since Z-man started introducing all their tiny lures. Even before that I was cutting and super glueing a lot of Elaztech stuff up to make little things that work great. I'm a little late to the trout slayer party but I'll use them in different places as time goes on. Happy 4th! Don
Hi Don, What size leader are you running off your main line. Another fun time in the water.

Hi, Rick. I was using 4 lb Spiderwire super mono on the Slayers. It worked well but I'm always worried about 4 lb test anything hahaha when fishing in the Aquarium. Those bass, and there's big ones, can easily rip through light line. I didn't show the fail scene when a larger bass took my Slayer to the house hahaha. I retied with 6 lb fluoro. Have a great 4th of July. Don
so random question is that number 131 res.

No Gman, it isn't. Do you know who to call in the bass pro administration to see about access to 131? Don

No, I do not. I was just looking at the map of that county trying to figure out where you were because you have the most coolest places where you go.
