What a way to spend the day...fish or no fish. I love a quiet day on my trout lakes too, thanks for the great video.

That's a dandy little rod..ideal for backpacking like you said. The red devil has always been a favourite lure of mine for trouting too. I think the boat video is a great idea and am looking forward to it.

Yes, loving the rod! Even when just walking out to a little brook or something, not getting caught up in alders or trees. Perfect

Trout fishing is relaxing. I did fly fish while I was in Ontario over the weekend and with the rivers and streams raging from all the recent rain in the province, I didn’t catch any. At least that’s my excuse. 😉But I did enjoy my time in the Ontario wilderness anyway. Carried my new knife you made and enjoyed my time in Canada. Like the new content Kyle. Cheers.

God that looks peaceful. As a master carpenter I have wanted to build a boat my whole life and haven’t done it. I would love to watch you bring my life dream to fruition!!! Go for it!!! I grew up on the Gulf coast but lived in Jackman Maine for a couple years and rowed our in some beautiful lakes and caught a few trout myself. It was right on the Canadian border. I also remember the mosquitoes were as big as the fish 😂😂😂. I didn’t have a hat with a net and got devoured. I’d go back and do it again if I could.

All by yourself? Of course that's how I prefer it. So relaxing and peaceful. Didn't expect you to catch any monster trout in that pond. Surprised you caught either one at all. A boat build would be awesome. Also something you can have and get good use off for many years. My boat has yet to be taken from storage. But I'm just itching to get out on the lake and wet a line.

@@kyle_noseworthy last time I fished there, all i caught were undersized, less than 8 inches. By the looks of what you caught I say not much has changed. Ï just didn't see any point in fishing a pond where most of the trout are too small to be legal. That was quite awhile ago and maybe things have changed. Bear pond has produced some nice fish for me over the years. So has blue hill pond....a 4 pounder.

I couldn't help from chuckling while you got through that ice, but you did, LOL. I've seen it where close to shore it was thin, but then it got much thicker further out. You caught that 1st trout on a red devil which surprised me. I always used a silver Kastmaster about 1/16 oz. Whatever works works tho. lol Glad you had a nice day.
