Joe this might also interest you. If you follow lower Bishop Creek east of Highway 395 behind Eastern Sierra Motors, which is the Ford dealership and head south towards Vine Street, the creek has rainbow and brown trout along with largemouth bass and a bunch of Owen’s suckers in it. You can catch suckers with baby nightcrawlers you can get them at Mac’s Sporting Goods

Hey Keith, that sounds interesting since I've never caught an Owen's sucker. I do think though that I may have seen them at Convict Lake (at the outlet near the marina) based on the image description that I looked up. I also found this bit of information on them: Owens suckers are an endemic species that are widely distributed in streams and rivers of the Owens River watershed, including the Owens River and Bishop Creek. They are most abundant in Crowley Reservoir (Mono County) and are also found in Convict Lake (Mono County) and Lake Sabrina (Inyo County). They were successfully introduced into June Lake (Mono Lake Basin), the Santa Clara River (Los Angeles County), and South Lake (Bishop Creek drainage) (Moyle 2002; S. Parmenter, CDFW, pers. comm. 2009). Perhaps a goal for next season, thanks for sharing.
