I use Gunold or Madeira metallic thread. I use 90/14 for Maderia Thread and 100/16 needle for Gunold. I use sewer aid on the thread. I don't change the tension. I have a Tajima embroidery machine.

The metallic shirt came out great. Metallic thread itself is hard to work with. I think one of those thread nets might help the thread from unwinding.

That looks like someone just created a round satin outline with the design in the middle and trimmed after stitching to mimic a patch. Typically patches have a backing (adhesive or not)on them with a merrow border. I don't make a lot of patches, but I use my embroidery machine to attach them to my son's Scout uniform because it's so much faster for all those little round merit badges than using my regular sewing machine! Making them? For one or two, they're not bad, but more than that, it's usually more cost efficient to outsource those to a shop that specializes in them. For designs with a fill stitch like that going on a patterned background like that white golf shirt, you can lay down some HTV (matching the color to the fill stitch in the design works best, but white if nothing else is fine too) before you run the design an dit will make the fill stitch pop without the pattern of the fabric behind it showing!

I have tried metallic thread and it always breaks on me. I like the idea of it and want it to work

Try a thread net on the metallic or cut a circle bigger than the bobbin and put it on bottom so it looks like it has a bigger base,

Hi Brittany. I loved your video. So funny. I love that you leave everything in your videos. You are so honest about things. I might have one tip for you and using metallic thread. I have embroidered with it and it really can be challenging / annoying. But did you ever try the Kingstar metallic thread? It is really pretty but does not act like the typical metallic thread. I know that the thread is a little more expensive but you don't have to use a special needle for it and it works great with higher speed as well. Maybe you want to try it out. Thank you again for your videos.

I would love a video showing troubleshooting. I have the EM1010 and watching your video when Ricoma came to you helped me so much.

Maybe use a thread net and slow down your speed. I also use Kingstar metallic.
