Dani'i is great and it's really good to hear from someone that actually lives in the hurricane development region. She will have better access to videos showing preparation, landfall, destruction😢, and cleanup.

From a layperson’s view, it seems like weather prediction models have been underestimating rapid intensification for hurricanes as our climate is shifting. I’m curious how those in charge of the models determine how to adjust them to account for this?

The first bigger threat of the year. Good video and crossover.

Thank for the update but my time of being meteorologist I have never seen a storm in the month of June rapidly intensify from a tropical depression to a category 4 hurricane between 12 and 24 hours and now we are seeing a record breaking hurricane named beryl in the ATL prayers for the windward islands

I don't want anyone to be affected by this storm, but as east as possible please. Hurricane Ivan was 910 mbrs, Hurricane Katrina was 902 mbrs, Hurricane Rita was 895, Wilma was 882

A cat 5 is actually possible

Pat the nhc just released a special advisory saying Beryl is now a c4 hurricane it’s now the strongest hurricane ever in the month of June and it’s still rapidly intensifying the eye is as round as Dorian’s and it’s eye is about 22c or higher it was upgraded to 130mph 962mb

Is it possible that these storms could mix up the water in the atlantic, causing some colder water to be brought up, which might help dial things down a bit? Some say with otherwise quiet seasons you can get a sudden intense storm like Andrew because everything to that point has been untouched and the energy is unused. Unfortunately, though with el nino we will still have a bumper crop season and sea temps can probably recover.

It is possible, but there are two problems. 1. This thing is moving at 20 MPH, it’s moving too fast for upwelling to do anything more than drop the OHC by a few points. 2. Even if that happened, the SST’s are still going to warm up across the Atlantic until September, so whatever heat is lost will easily recover.

Nah rump with Beryl. Beryl is a major peril.

I wouldn’t be so sure about it. The TUTT over Florida is moving out of the area by the time this gets to the Yucatán, so shear won’t be a major problem at least until it enters the Gulf

​@PatsPathPredictor I know these canes love to 6 inch death punch the coast but I'm not seeing it with the waters churned up. Alberto cooled the oceans on your ocean heat content map even then this is gonna roll into that area so I'd take the 6 inch death punch off the table. And then Chris is gonna follow and if it isn't yanked up and follows these two there going into churned cooler waters. Just my speculation seeing the info given.

Where's Danii from? I hear a slight accent. Maybe Jamaican. She's cute.
