Could someone PLEASE tell me a product that will keep my pond algae free. I'm SO SICK of spending money and cleaning. A thing that was supposed to be so peaceful is a COMPLETE HEADACHE AND FRUSTRATION. And all the money I spent on plants!....brought them in for the winter and EVERY ONE of them didn't make it till Spring. Digging that hole is a huge regret.

I have a small pond but never had any algae problems. Does your pond get enough sunlight? Also very important is good substrate. Maybe you can test the water in a lokal garden/pond/koi shop.

@@TropicalGardening Enough sunlight??? I've gone to the length to put up artificial shade till the newly planted trees grow because everyone else says the algae grows BECAUSE of sunlight. And I don't know what you mean by substrate.

@@lesliekendall5668 A healthy pond needs much sunlight so maybe the balance is disturbed. I know algae will grow harder in full sun but the ecosystem should control it. Too much fish and dead leaves can also cause an algae explosion. But I'm not a specialist so maybe you can run some tests on the water.
