Great video and trombone playing by both! I had the good fortune to see Haruka play at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival a couple of years ago and she played just great there too! She had a 'bump' then, so it was lovely to see her little fella almost, but not quite, steal the show in this video! I hope she never moves away from the New Orleans style for very long! It's there you get the best tunes and the most emotional depth, in my opinion!

What a joyful video! So lovely to hear and see two of my favourite people who also happen to be two of the very best trombonists, with a cameo appearance by Shouta! Delightful and unusual performances of 'South' and 'Tishomingo'. Many thanks.

I find Charlie's explanation of playing the trombone more as a bass instrument (think tuba) for traditional jazz interesting. I recall recording Tuba Skinny during a French Quarter Festival when Charlie was subbing for Barnabus. He faked me out while recording. I was zoomed in on Craig on clarinet when Charlie started playing and I thought it was Todd on tuba so swung the camera over to him before I realized it was Charlie on trombone.

I came across this superb video by hasard (Covid and confinement here in France obliges). I had a great time listening to these two fine trombonists in a context different from what I knew. Congratulations and thank you for this moment.

An absolute delight! Got me wondering if I could take the instrument up again. having played 60 years ago in the school orchestra and military band. Thanks very much.
