These guys are BAD ASS! A little bit of Funk, a little bit of Jazz, a little bit of Rock, a little bit of Soul, a little bit of Rap, a little bit of Blues, and even a little bit of Reggae! They got it ALL! THEY ROCK!

You got that right. I'm an old school diehard rock/blues/metal guy, and when I saw them on Austin City Limits they blew me away. This is good music right here. Tight structure, great back beat, with some excellent guitar work peppered in on occasion. This has it all. Extremely hard to find in this day and age of auto-tuned weak-lunged 'artists' the mainstream music moguls keep trying to shove down our throats.

patric t. murphy Check out the rest of his extended family - all the Glen Andrews's (there are a bunch of cousins all named Glen Andrews in various bands around New Orleans). Glen David Andrews is the best known. James Andrews is Shorty's older brother, a wonderful trumpet player. Shorty worked a long time getting this group polished to where he wanted it, and it shows. In New Orleans it seems that there is never one musician in a family so check out the Batiste family, especially Jon Batiste and Stay Human. I love this music!

Aside from putting on an amazing show- Trombone Shorty had the most amazing impromptu recovery I've ever seen. Red Rocks, CO, a storm threatens the front range on a perfect summer night, warm with a bit of a breeze and lighting behind the stage. Suddenly lighting strikes in Morrison and the power goes out, as the light dies, Shorty comes in with a raw, powerful trombone solo. The crowd is silent, everyone in awe of this man belting out so powerfully and incredibly for minutes on end- after about 9 minutes, the lights come back on, the band comes back end and the crowd roars. So good... those are the moments we live for... and he wasn't even the headliner. Thank you Trombone Shorty.

I know this is 2 years old but holy cow!!! and at Red Rocks! I have only visited but have never seen a show there. I have seen many great shows through the years but can only imaging seeing some of my favorites at such a magical venue. Your Trombone Shorty concert had to be epic. Thanks for sharing that story!!!

I wonder how often he blows the headliners out of the water. The man is a legend. The show is impossible to dislike. Musicianship and showmanship beyond any reasonable fairness in one person, let alone the whole band.

Saw them tonight opening for Gov’t Mule. I am a huge Warren Haynes fan but I have to say the number they did with TBS was undoubtedly their best of the night, even better than his slide work during the opener. He should be a much bigger star than he is given his talent and showmanship. The chemistry of the current lineup is as good as any band I’ve ever seen in 40 years of watching live music

Outstanding Concert, Troy is truly a "Jazz Master"... Play on Shorty... play on.
Where have I been!?! I just heard of this guy for the first time today on the Jazz station here in Nashville. GREAT MUSIC!!!..What a player!!! The band is TIGHT!!!
Saw Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave, with Galactic and New Breed Brasa Band at South side on Lamar/Gilleys Dallas in Dallas TX Dec. 19, 2015...man, I was in my Boot State a/k/a Louisiana zone! man we had a blast! awesome show and the crowd was well diverse...everybody was feeling that Who DAT vibe! From one musician to another band of musicians...well done! Who DAT 4 Life!
I LOVE seeing a whole new young crop of jazz fusion musicians. Glad that there are super talented musicians taking the mantel of genuine music instead of the dreck being mass media produced by no talents that need intensive electronics and studio mixing, and are nothing but repetitive words and soulless beats. Cream always rises to the top. Trombone Shorty is the crème de la crème.
I love watching this set, I found it 4 years now and probably watched or listened to it over 20 or 30 times by now.

This is one of the best live performers I have ever heard in my life. The entire group is a accomplished. Trombone Shorty is the best trumpet player I have heard in years. The baritone sax player is a trip.I heard them in Syracuse and they stole the show for the entire Jazz Fest.

I regularly go to shows, this isn't my typical genre, and Shorty 14 years ago is still the best show I've ever seen.
What’s the deal with the folks with the thumbs down… awesome concert. Wish I could’ve seen it in person.
I have never seen nor heard a concert be so full of constant life and raw talent. Truly one of the most put together concerts Every single one of you is just incredible. The guitar work in particular is out of this worlllld
@Oenloveslife

The guitar player played chunky raw solid rhythm, but his lead playing was super sloppy and the weakest link in this stellar band.
I'll never be able to fathom the work, memory, endurance, and skill these musicians have
one of the best live on youtube.... amazing ¡¡¡¡
What the f*** did I just walk into this is amazing 🤯, it’s like he’s singing and rapping with a trombone 😵
That trombone playing is so raw!!! Love it!
If Trombone Shorty and this band on this set ever come to this area I am going to be sure to see him. He is so cool intelligent talented. I saw him in an interview on KZread and he spoke so well and intelligently. He is amazing! I want to see his concert!!!!
This man is no joke -- every time I've seen him I've been amazed. Can't wait for him to swing back up to DC again in 2013.

Me too. I've watched 2 complete concerts so far. He's great. Want to see him live.
Never a Jazz fan and always into ROCK & ROLL got my initiation into the World of Jazz at the young age of 59 years at the "N.C.P.A International Jazz Festival" in Mumbai .Its was a 3 day festival that began on Friday(11/10/2019) and ended on Sunday(13/10/2019). Attended the last day on Sunday and was entertained to 5 hrs of Jazz music with 2 intervals in-between and complimentary free "White Owl Beer" being the water of the Jazz festival on this day.Life is about constant learning and have added a new genre of music to my hobby and attending Jazz festivals a future prospect of entertainment.
Great performance! These guys sound amazing!
As a trombone player from way back, I'm loving this!! TS has surrounded himself with some stellar musicians who set him off to a tee!! Wonderful!
Saw these guys at summerfest last year- never knew a band could sound so full loud and controlled at the same time
I had to watch an online concert for a class due to the pandemic. Without the lockdown, I may not have found this band. I'm so glad I did, this was amazing
My son play the trombone and he loves your music.I do too! It 's a kind of music that make me feel so goooood!
Super concert ! De quoi rallier les jeunes générations au blues.....
Absolutely the real deal. This man just knows Music! Flat out, all soul, all fire, all spirit.
EXCELLENT !!! super concert !!!!!
Excellent musicians 👌 just saw them on Jools Holland tonight on New Year’s eve - crap year 💩💩 great to hear this at end of 2020 RIP poor people who died because of Covid RIP❤️❤️
Excellent performance. I especially liked the song that featured the Neville Brothers and his big brother on trumpet (approx. @ 1:25:30), which that groove is truly the epitome of New Orleans funk.

Discovered him at the Paris Jazz Festival this afternoon. Loved the way he mixes rock, funk, jazz... an amazing performance ! Not only the entire line-up is madly talented, but they showed a very contagious joy of being there and playing a rich and generous sound. Bravo les mecs, revenez quand vous voulez !
outstanding! great music & great musicians! thanx 4 the post...
I did not know you played the trumpet. Trombone Shorty. You do a great job. I hope one day I meet you in person in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. It would had be great if you had a trumpeter while you played the trombone and along with the saxophonists.
I want to thank my music appreciation teacher for showing me this
I just caught TS at the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl Last Sunday, he came on After India Ari, and before Sheila E. After an electrifying performance like that, they might as well have closed the doors... with all due respect to Sheila the headliner, you just cant follow that act with anything!!!! When I came home Sunday night, I found this video and it's the third time I'm watching it since Sunday! ( It's Tuesday Night!!!)
