I had a few hours to fish the other afternoon, so I decided to see if the crappie bite had pick-up on my home lake. While it was very windy that afternoon, I still managed to catch enough nice fish for dinner, mostly trolling my favorite crappie crankbaits (link below).

My favorite color for crappie is Sexee shad and I usually cast 50-100 feet behind the kayak and will zig zag over ledges or points to see where the fish may be holding. While I catch a lot of species while trolling crankbaits, it's a fun and easy way to load-up on fish when they're active in warmer months.
