Trog! (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Ойындар

A playthrough of Acclaim's 1991 arcade-style action game for the NES, Trog!
This video shows the entire game being finished in a single credit. No warps were used.
Trog! was a 1990 Midway arcade title that featured cycloptic cavemen - "trog"lodytes - that constantly try to eat the player's dinosaur as it scours the fifty stages for lost eggs. It's somewhat like PacMan, but with a lot more chaos, violence, and humor.
Though it has been cut down considerably from the original arcade game (the claymation graphics have been replaced with more traditional spritework and two playable characters have been removed), the gameplay stays faithful and the graphics still look good by NES standards. The detailed death animations in particular are highlights - it's brutal to see yourself reduced to a stack of bones!
Trog! isn't a terribly hard game, but it does push back enough that you probably won't get through it the first time you play. Practice does make perfect, and the better you get, the more fun the game tends to become. If you want something that's a bit quirky with high production values, Trog! is well worth picking up.

This is one of the few NES games that my mother really loved, so much so that she would play it with me from time to time when I was a kid. Hell, the same pertained to most of the kids from my class, since I was the only one who owned this cart, hah. It would never get old back then!

True story: When I was a kid I rented this game and there was a sweepstakes to win the arcade. I filled out the card, threw some change in it (there was actually a fee) and I waited and waited and still waiting for my arcade to this day.

Even with the substantial downgrade in presentation from the arcade game, Trog! for the NES is an extremely fun and well constructed game with some impressive production values. Well worth picking up!

I like how most of the trog gimmicks can be fatal to themselves. That's hilarious they start taking more of themselves out than you.

The NES version of Trog, Acclaim's home port of the 1990 Bally/Midway arcade game of the same name, was developed by Visual Concepts, Interplay and Bally/Midway, and published by Acclaim, and licensed by Nintendo of America, Inc. for play on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It has a number of key differences such as visuals and sound, two-player support with Bloop and Spike as playable characters instead of four, among other changes.
