LYRICS:
Who has the means to save us from ourselves
To pull us from the vicious cycles feeding back again
Consume and feed, degenerate
We damage just to liberate
Bought and sold before we could even breathe
I feel like we’re falling
A lifeline just out of our reach
I feel our collapsing
The arrogant numb to our needs
You’re a catastrophe
The one who’s come to devastate
Catastrophist
You stole our innocence
You’re a catastrophe
The one who’s come to devastate
Catastrophist
We never had a chance
How far along before we fade away
So deeply out of focus but it seems we never cared
Deflect, deny, what flows inside
The poison springs internalize
Bought and sold before we could even breathe
Who has the means to save us from ourselves
To pull us from the vicious cycles feeding back again, feeding back again
The bringer of our devastation
You stole our innocence
Bringer of our devastation
It’s you, catastrophist
Consume and feed, degenerate
We damage just to liberate
Deflect, deny, what flows inside
The poison springs internalize

I just love this song! So....precise, yet it’s a musical journey through multiple transitions. The drumming is just astounding. Trivium is sort of hitting their next level. Some bands never forge ahead. Trivium is.

Listening to this track a countless number of times now….beyond epic! Its just so tastefully done…a lot to unpack in one track….tempo changes, multi-movement, emotional, guitar harmonies, love the snare and tom tom sound and recorded well, brilliant video, Trivium has evolved significantly over years, and this has to be one of my favorite metal albums.
Trivium has to go down in history as one of the best metal bands of all time!

this combines all of triviums best sides, amazing. this is the sin and the sentence part 2, in the most positive way possible. they finally found their sound, their kind of way to stick to. keep alex, please. this is what i was hoping for. most anticipated music release since fall 2017, and you did not disappoint once again.
The whole band just slaying it man. Matt sounds better than ever!

Its the beauty of him taking his voice more serious and not just growling and destroying it. He never would have made 9 albums if he kept doing what he did on the first two.
DAMN....WHAT A DRUMMER!!! Technical....precision....speed...BADASSERY!!!
AMAZING TSATS was very good but, for the first time in 10 years, it finally sounds like this will be the follow-up to Shogun I've been waiting for
I gotta say, after "The Sin and the Sentence", the boys have quite an album to top. But this.......this quite hits the spot. Hopefully they put out another banger of an album.

Man, Corey doesn't get enough love. Sure the drums are amazingly good, Paolo did a great job on the bass, Matt's vocals, and especially the cleans are superb, but that solo, while not Corey's best, is sick! Great mixing in general.
Joseph Gordon Levitt would be perfect to play Matt Heafy in a movie..and yeah this song kills specially with Alex Bent.. trivium feels evolved and heavier on drums since the days of In Waves.. please keep this awesome band intact..one of my fav childhood metal bands 🤘
