Alpha Omega So far only one time(in my experience) something didnt seem to go accordingly because all band electrical went out during the second song of their set(i believe the second song). They were all really cool about it. That was during a Trivium show in 2015 btw. Not Mayhem.

Jacob Lyons Okay... but they recorded an album with him and kept him for quite some time lol. And now according to Matt none of those drummers (including Nick and Alex!) were ever “in” Trivium, he said the last actual member / drummer was Travis, and everyone since then was and is a session drummer.

Trivium rents a studio in my grandfathers music store. Discount music center, Orlando Florida. It's pretty cool. They seem super chill

I meant old in terms of popularity or how long they've been around. The only good Mayhem year was 2009 and it had a majority of still relevant and decent bands. Ever since then, it has been filled with shit bands like Disturbed and Godsmack with a sprinkling of good bands every so often (Children of bodom, motorhead, machinehead...)

Bands like Disturbed and Godsmack unfortunately are the only bands that can headline 6000 person venues. All the good bands that are that big are too expensive :( I don't care who headlines as long as the main stage openers and side stages kick ass

Trivium. I made the promotional video for mayhem in 2009 I wasn’t at my best but this is a great in depth video with some great interviews. I wish I was in a better place and could have got to know these guys. I listen to their music regularly and they seem like really great guys. It’s intimidating to be behind the camera and challenge these guys to talk. Good job I hope the videographer’s therapy appointments aren’t to expensive. That’s why it’s important to vote for Bernie even though they’re pushing Biden who has no chance at beating trump. I digress. Nice video. Trivium definitely should have been bigger than they are I feel responsible as a marketer. Anyway I’ll shut up now. Viva metal.

Cr4nium13 Matt seems WAY too rehearsed and fake. Does the same exact stuff every single show. Paolo is too boring, used to have a lot of energy and jump around and headbang hard. Corey is still awesome, gets into it, and always kills it. Mat is solid and has a cool collected look, which I like. Nick got into it a bit more, and Travis was pretty badass, but Mat works well. Biggest problem is Matt, his vocals are so annoying on the old songs. Like on 'Throes' he used to absolutely scream "FUCKING EXPLODE", but now he says it like a little pussy in Draiman style vocals. Damn.

Lionhardt369 Matt is a professional who wants to take care of his voice so he does what is necessary to do that, plus he enjoys joga and all the martial arts stuff. He doesn't party anymore cause he's grown out of that shit, he currently sings the way he does because he blew his voice out a few months ago and is still recovering from it (ideally he shouldn't be touring at all) Paolo, I don't know headbanging when you're bald seems pretty pointless really. And don't get me started on the whole Draiman stuff, he helped Matt reach notes he didn't even think were possible. He didn't change the way he sings at all. for the last few years he has been singing more and more in that style (operatic) to make sure his voice don't die, singing aggressively and uncontrolled will eventually kill your voice (like what happened to James Hetfield) and he has altered his voice recently (like mentioned before) so he can sing without risk of further damage to his voice. Honestly, they just see themselves as a professional Metal band now as opposed to man children getting drunk and trying to get laid every night

Cr4nium13 Yeah, I mean I agree with your analysis. I just prefer the 2011 In Waves era style to this. They were still professional, but they didn't feel so sterile and rehearsed. Wacken 2011 was epic. The best I've seen is 2009 though. The Mayhem Fest performances that summer were so badass and raw. Check out Pull Harder Mayhem 2009. Matt's presence is amazing. I'm not a fan of VF at all, so maybe that's my problem. A very sterile (best word to describe this) album. They've only played 4 songs from it live so far, that's so lame. Also, they've been opening up their sets with Black. Such a lame opener. I absolutely love this band though. Top 3 albums are Shogun, Ascendancy, Crusade (In Waves very close).

i guess matt is a black metal fan, usually see him with black metal band shirts

Late to the party but this is in Houston. The venue sucks ass. Small pit up front, stadium seating in the middle, and the lawn in the back. Makes for a weird crowd dynamic.
