I was thinking the same thing. To this day, I'm still so curious about what ACTUALLY went down between them. I know Paolo and Nick were friends before, and somehow I don't think Corey alone would be able to get rid of Nick. So Matt not commenting on Nick's section combined with one of Nick's posts when he left the band makes me think the issue was solely between Matt and Nick. I dont remember the post word for word but I do remember he said, "Someone had a stick up their ass." Redfering to Matt I'm guessing. Bottom line is, as a band you, gotta do what you gotta do and comparatively to their other drummers they've had since, Nick's playing was sloppy. Alex bent has really tight precision, seldom misses key fills and usually can stick to the tempo. Nick would consistently mess all of those up (as a drummer it was hard not to notice.) But yeah, go trivium! All respect to everyone involved 👏

In Waves was a pinnacle moment in my life where I got to appreciate a whole album that was a bit outside my comfort zone, Each song stands on its own and is an amazing metal album. I looked up Colin Richardson's other discography and what he's worked on. The dude is legend, probably a key component to have a really good vision and a really great production team to execute a great album, and this album is a true example of what that can be. I have to say a couple of things. Firstly, In Waves album was my introduction to Trivium. I had a very difficult time in my life, back then. The album was one thing, that gave me the strength to get myself out of those hard times. I love it, it's a fantastic album. Secondly, listening to your own voice and analyze it, is really, REALLY hard. I sing, not professionally, but karaoke and so on. I learned to listen to my own voice, and it's an ability, that makes training songs and so on, much easier. I would say, learning that skill makes you a better singer or at least makes you learn faster ;) Thirdly, latest 3 Trivium albums are terrific. Matt, how much better you are as a singer now, is unbelievable... My hat off to you, Sir! I hope this is the "Final" Trivium line-up. Fantastic, just fantastic!

Some absolute bangers and some of the best songs they ever wrote but with a lot of stuff I really didn’t care for. I’d give it a solid 7. I think vengeance falls overall was a better album front to back, but in waves best songs are better than anything off vengeance falls whereas vengeance falls is more solid throughout imo. Listening to Colin, Ging and Carl talk about Paulo in sight a great light. Does this mean he is better than Alex Webster? Not to debate such a thing but that’s quite a large amount of praise. That being this was great to watch. Going to take a big ole listen and rank these albums in the new year!

I love Trivium. My favorite albums IN ORDER: 1-Ascendency -----> 2-Crusade -----> 3-Ember -----> 4-Shogun -----> 5-Sin/Sentence -----> 6-In Waves. The funniest thing is the fact that I LOVED Disturbed, but once I found MetalCore, I left it all behind and was a bit butt hurt seeing David Draiman in the Studio with the boys, Producing what I believed to be my least favorite album up to that time in the catalog. I have since become more open minded to the fact that Matt made HUGE Vocal strides on that album and the production was top notch. I guess I just didn't like seeing those 2 worlds collide...LOL

I take it you don not play guitar. Every album after shogun is a joke compared to the work on everything prior.

What a great album In Wave is. Honestly, I can't think of a bad Trivium album. I think this is one of the only bands that you can clearly see that are eager to change their sound and explore something new. I understand that although there are some albums that are "less favorites" among the fans, there's something for everyone. I for one LOVE The Crusade, but I'm aware that it's not a fan favorite, and that's okay. Too understand how there's something for everyone, you can show Silence in The Snow to a friend who isn't too much into screaming and ultra harsh vocals and maybe they'll change their opinion on metal and start listening to more and more records. Trivium is certainly one of the best bands in metal nowadays, and it's on a fucking incredible streak of monumental albums that every single fan can agree that are impeccable. For real, ITCOTD is one of my favorite records of all time. Thank you for your dedication to us, Matt, Paolo, Corey and Alex!

Definitely issues with Matt and Nick. Matt Said Nick brought a good energy but that's it. I get it, kinda get the impression Matt is more professional maybe more of a muso compared to other people and that probably causes conflict. If there not practicing as long as he does or as 100% committed to the music then they got to go.
