no it's not...Herald trumpet has 3 pistons while this trumpet has only 1. This one is actually called Aida trumpet and it has been created specifically for the Verdi's opera Aida.

The curly trumpets at 0:23 and the straight trumpets at 1:29, emit a note that seems to contain an ingredient that would encourage any student to rise and triumph through the different stages of life, no matter what line of life he or she choses, The other week I attended a local school which was presenting a children's musical activity on a stage which included dancing. When I approached the young teacher organiser that she was using provocative music to sexually stir the children , and that music was meant for young people of her age, she just could not understand, and would not accept that music can stir us in so many different moods, Verdi wanted to project a triumphal human mood and I am sure that he would have understood what I said that young female teacher, who was of an age where, she herself, wanted to be provocative, which is very normal, but she tried to transfer her own sexual moods to the children which was absolutely wrong. Back to this triumphal march, and any student who triumphed deserves to appreciate this . Well done to all, The music fits the bill perfectly and how stunningly it is . I love those straight trumpets and as an engineer and a mathematician, I am admiring more than the music emerging from the sight showing those narrow tubes close to the mouthpiece at 2:12. If only that young female teacher I spoke to would grow up to appreciate when to use the right combination of frequencies and tones! I pity those young children, as they were being abused. by the lack of emotional sensitivity of that young female teacher. Music is a weapon used by religions, entertainers, politics and romances and militaries. and lovers and slaves.

Gosh ! It's a nonsense to play this part without the choir!Really these Proms 2013 are really disappointing. Apart from the Williams Sea Symphony at the first concert and the Beethoven 4th concerto, as far as I'm concerned and as a regular listener, I'll forget it very quickly. What a pity!
