Triumph Tiger 660 Sport test ride - thoughts and comparison to my tiger 900. 🐯

I had the pleasure of test riding the tiger 660 sport, so I made this little video with my thoughts and how it compares to the 900. Thanks to Pure Triumph in Wellingborough for the test ride! 😊
Sadly my conclusions at the end were scuppered by a dead gopro battery, but I think the video as a whole gives a good overview of the bike. 👍🏻

I bought the tiger sport 660 2 weeks ago. Sold my trident and street triple. The tiger sport is fantastic. Needed the lower comfort seat as I'm just 5ft 8 and was tip toes. Panniers arrived today. Fantastic bike

Enjoy your new bike! I’ve owned a Street Triple and test ridden a Trident, and I can safely say the Tiger 660 is a great compromise between the 2 of them! 👍🏻

hi.. congzz.. bdw how is the foot position!? is it so bend like sportbikes or like adv touring bikes (versys, vstorm or tiger 900 etc).. like is it comfortable for long rides/ whole day rides?

@@amlangopal2363 I would say it in between a sports bike and adv bike. So there is more of a bend in the knee than on my tiger 900, but not as much as a sports bike. Overall, I know I only had an hour or so on the bike, but I never felt any discomfort. It’s a brilliant compromise between comfort and sportiness if you ask me. 👍🏻

Went to see the bike a couple of days ago and I just loved the look of it , better in the flesh than pictures and it looks nice in grey. The sound on that engine is awesome just a lovely bike all round. It will definitely sell well just a pity no cruise control option which killed it for me.

It’s a fantastic machine and looks stunning, but as you say the lack of cruise control is a huge black mark against it. Considering how well it’s specced, especially compared to the competition, that’s a big oversight by Triumph I feel.

I think I’ll be more inclined to use a bike this size more often, than I would a big polished 1250; but that I just where I’m at my stage of life. A good all rounder if we only want one bike.

Really enjoyed watching that, especially so as I ride those roads regularly, I live in Lavendon so know them well. Currently riding an mt10 and though it may sound strange I’m seriously considering testing this bike to see if it’s a possible change. I love my 10 but it turns me into a hooligan and I worry about my license! Plus the need to fill up every 100 miles or so can be a ball ache. Anyway great video and good to see the bike being ridden as it should be! Thanks

Yes, some great roads in the area, the road out of Grendon towards Wellingborough is a favourite of mine when the tarmac is warm and dry! 😉 I have never never ridden a 10, but yeah that tank range would do my head in! 😂 I have just test ridden the new Suzuki GT and absolutely fell in love with it, but like you the fear of losing my license would put me off owning one - probably! 😆 Has to be said though, this 660 may not have the outright power but it is super playful! You can have some serious fun on it without risking jail time! 😈

@@alexwotherspoon5630 I’ve not tested a modern Street Triple, hoping to do that soon though. I did own a ‘13 Street ABS and it was a good bike too. Is there any protection from the wind rain and cold for your legs from knee to feet?

  • @ukveganbikers

    @ukveganbikers

    2 жыл бұрын

I didn't really get to ride it in any kind of rain or bad weather, but I would say the protection in that area is fairly reasonable, there is some fairing there that deflects the air around your legs.

I think the gearing is too low. Very attractive bike but I’d be tempted to add a couple of teeth to the front sprocket. First gear would be more usable, motorway riding more relaxing and with better fuel economy which is what you need for touring. I’m surprised that more manufacturers dont make 6th gear an overdrive, especially on sports tourers and tourers.

  • @ukveganbikers

Fair enough, I personally felt the gearing was perfect for what I want out of a bike, but then we are all different. Should be a simple fix though!

Cheers! I’m 5’10, and could just about flat foot on even ground. It has to be said however, it’s a fairly light bike and carries it’s weight well, so doesn’t feel too heavy, and I never once felt I was going to drop it. I suspect that Triumph may not release a lowered version like with the 900 as it may compromise the sportier handling of the 660!
