Triumph Street Twin Upgrades | My FIRST Motorcycle
I did a few upgrades to my '22 Triumph Street Twin. I installed new cafe racer mirrors, a radiator guard, fork protectors, and leather grips. This was a fun project and I'm stoked to add more customizations and safety protectors to my first bike. Links to the parts are below. Thanks for following along with me :)

Extras worth considering - Centre stand, makes chain maintenance a doddle also its the easiest I have ever used. Fly screen, works surprisingly well & eases fatigue at speed. All OEM parts so not cheap but fit like a glove.

@@moto_des I hear that! I'm a new rider too. I'm on my second bike that I got back in Nov. I almost bought a black Speed Twin 900 back then(your bike but now with a new name). Tho I've been loving the Trident I got instead lately I've been wishing I bought the ST900.
Hi there! thanks for your video. I just bought a new speed twin( new name for street twin) in the chrome edition which is hopper red( sort of candy apple) with chrome knee pads on the tank. It is my first Triumph after 40+ years of riding and I love it. The looks the sound and the way it rides are terrific! I too have fitted a radguard( I went for the brushed alloy look which matches the exhaust and throttle body covers) and also have some nice bar end mirrors to try. Your street twin looks very nice in all black and I love the big central analog speedometer and the sound from the exhaust. I look forward to seeing the next mods. you have planned for your bike. Cheers from down under!

Beautiful bike and great mods! I love the Trip Machine leather wraps. After two rides you get used to them and they kind of get smoother the longer they are used by daily riding and weather conditions. For the last inch I used double sides tape.

I need to look into those fork protectors
I have the same Timemachine grips, I did mine from the end in. They seem fine, I used some leather treatment a few times, they seem to handle getting wet, with regular treatment. I like the feel and thickness on my Pan Am, I'm use to a 1988 Lowrider, which has pretty thick grips. Leather treatment, like Dubbin, helps with thee grip feeling.

So far I've really been enjoying them and they have weathered nicely. I need to get some leather treatment soon, thanks for the suggestion!
The mirrors look fantastic. Also really like the look of the grips. Too bad you had an issue with the adhesive. I’m considering either the mirrors you got or the CRG lanesplitters. Also thinking about the Motone Tail Tidy and relocating the rear turn signals to the rear suspension mounts. Love your content!!

I like to customise my bikes. Its not only bling but a practical tweaking to suit ergonomics, performance and variable road conditions. So i just bought a Thuxton 1200 with low mileage, like 2700 kms over 6 years! Ive already doubled that in 3 months. It was intensively customised. Fairing, mufflers, rear shocks, cowling, seat, tail tidy, bar end mirrors. I put in progressive springs to remove harsh ride as I live in country southern West Australia where the roads are mangled by grain trucks. I changed the. rear sprocket to a smaller diameter to have lower revs at highway speeds, as my nearest city is 90 miles. It does 65 moh at 3200 rom instead of 4500. The motor is low revving especially compared to my previous bike a 1450cc 4 cylinder. I had some leather handlebar tape left over from a pushbike and wrapped that on my grips as stock grips were too narrow and hard. Good to see you embrace motorbike riding. Ive been on them since 1972 and they demand focus and prescence of mind.

Something you could have done with the left hand mirror mount is leave it on and add a motorcycle RAM mount on it (think it is called a mirror ball base) and then add your favorite go-pro mount, etc. and then remove your seasky go-pro mount for that super clean factory look😜. Enjoying the video's btw. I am getting back into riding after an 18 year hiatus (i.e. kids), so I can relate to your excitement, and all the newness when riding. Cheers!

@@moto_des No problem. Thanks for making the video. My first color choice was Toyota Lunar Rock, but the spray can tip where I ordered it from online wasn’t the greatest. Decided to switch to Dupli-Color since it’s cheap and looks pretty good. Bought the good 2K clear though. Almost finished with the color base coat, so not much more to go. You can’t go wrong with matte black!
The bar end mirrors look great, however I won't be putting them on my own bike as I do a lot of lane splitting and the extra width will inhibit me from going down between 2 cars because of the extra width. However the radiator guard is a great idea
Rode from Georgetown to pick up my friend in south Austin for a road trip down to Kelly’s Hill Country Barbeque in Wimberley, TX and it was pretty solid and the trip was awesome! If I could make one suggestion, when you put new bolts or screws on your bike you should use red loctite, those screws can vibrate and back themselves out while you are riding, red loctite will lock the screw in so it does not vibrate out, you can also use blue loctite if it's a bolt you think you might remove periodically, I use red on everything

How do the new mirrors perform with bright headlights from traffic behind you? That was the biggest issue with the stock mirrors on my Pacific Coast, ST1100P, and BMW R1250RT. The low position of those mirrors reflected a lot of bright headlights up into my eyes at night. Being lower than the stock handle bar mirrors, do you have more headlight glare beamed up from the cafe mirrors?
