Triumph Street Scrambler 900. Hardknott and Wrynose passes.

Taking the Triumph Street Scrambler 900 over the infamous Hardknott and Wrynose passes in the Lake District.
These passes are known for their steep gradients and off camber bends, along with some interesting tight turns.
A good test of a riders ability as well as the agility of a bike.

@bott4712 The rain didn't last, was a very light shower and not even enough to soak through my gear. Still a very enjoyable ride though.

I had to google to see where this was. It’s a beautiful area. Can you educate me as to why the roads have been kept so narrow?

@charliestoybox2099 Most passes in the Lake District are narrow, this one especially as it's more or less an old Roman road. Also it's an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ( AONB), and so is protected. Hardknott pass has the remains of an old Roman fort on it, which can be seen on Google maps. It can be very harsh in the winter ( for the UK), so the road suffers from snow, frost and black ice. Looks stunning when covered in snow.

You have to do salter fell. 7 mile track over moors. Plenty vids. I did it on monkey. Slaidburn to wray. Legal for motorbikes but not cars

@zedcharlie I'll have to look into that one, although I'm not sure what the Mrs would say about me taking her bike off road, as it's her pride and joy. I've also got Rudland Rigg not far from me, that's an old drovers road over the Moors.

@@thetaleof2wheels.947 I.m not an off reader. Was OK on monkey but there is one tricky bit. Small wheels a little difficult on that section. That triumph would be OK if you can turn rear abs off. Pick a dry spell. If you think it's worth the trip after seeing vid. Not technical at all. Just pebbly size stones . Most of it easy.

@@zedcharlie I'll have a look for the videos of it. I'm in the North East near Durham city, so even the Lakes is a good day ride out. I used to have a Monkey 125, even rode that over to the Lakes and over Hardknott and Wrynose passes. 240 miles in one day, and bloody great fun. Although doing that distance you certainly miss a bike with a bit of power. I do have a video of taking the monkey over the passes.

@@thetaleof2wheels.947 Watched it. That's why I thought you would like salter. User name Kate did it but just type salter fell in. Plenty.

@@zedcharlie Is that the one she recently did where she hurt her foot? I think it's Monkey Dix Adventures playground as well isn't it? It does look good, apart from those rock steps 🤣
